  • I have been running on WVO for 3 years; my father-in-law has been for over ten years. Hundreds of thousands of miles have been logged on WVO without engine failure (270K on his E300). Taking the time for proper care and management are imperative to successful WVO use. If you don't take the time, you must have the money.

  • I ran WVO in my 1981 240D for 1 month (maybe 20 gallons or so). Once I realized how much a pain in the balls collecting, filtering, and spilling oil was, I switched to diesel fuel only. When I changed my glowplugs last, they were sorta gummed in there by polymerized WVO, which made for a difficult change. I could only imagine the buildup after running WVO for an extended amount of time.

No matter what fuel you run though, I recommend doing a Diesel Purge (per the instructions).

  • Hmm really not a good idea wow. WVO is just too crude for that car's engine dont you think?

I have a 2002 Jetta TDi and 2006 Touran TDi and would NEVER even consider going WVO.

Having said that....they run very nicely on B100 biodiesel and VW even honoured the service plan on the Touran knowing this. I have had both of them at VW and Bosch....(Jetta popped a pumphead seal...ULSD, eish.) They agree that after 25 K miles on Jetta and 12K miles on Touran we dont need to start shopping yet

    Cheers

  • injectors just need to be cleaned

  • Classic VO destruction of a perfectly good car. I can't begin to imagine what that repair bill is going to look like :(

  • Sounds exactly like my in-laws toilet!
