Sad thing is that I had the same thought on who dubbed this, I thought it was 4kids at first... and then my second thought was how dare they take away Hiruma's guns, cussing, and all-around awesomeness :(

I have no problem with dubs in any shape or way, even if there are a bit of changes with it (like some episodes being removed in Cardcaptor Sakura). HOWEVER, this is just bad. It felt like someone took a chainsaw to the show and retached everything with superglue and sotch tape.

ok honestly, they shouldn't hav bothered editing ES21 the anime has its japanese culture ( idk y they don't leave it be since pplz can learn about japan) and THEY KILLED HIRUMA'S CHARACTER!!!!! they cut out his guns/weapons ( which are in almost every episode), and his inhuminaty, the whole anime shows hiurma shooting and him being evil

yes I like English dubbed, and I can handle 1 cut from an episode of an anime like the death note cut on episode 25 (I'm not gonna say it because that would be spoiling, but you probably know anyways) but 13 CUTS?!?! What the fuck happened to this anime?!?!?! I think I'll just watch the sub version. No wonder why people got so pissed. -_-

What the hell...VIZ is worst than 4Kids. Not even Megaman NT Warrior (aka Rockman.exe)- dubbed by 4Kids - was that badly butchered :/ Glad I did not watch the english version of ES 21first.

Viz didn't do the dub. A company made only to dub ES21 did. They called the the Eyeshield 21 US project.

Actually the Eyeshield 21 US project were the collaboration of NAS, TV Tokyo, and Shueisha. Viz did do the dubbing

Well, it's moreso of VIZ hiring voice actors in the Los Angeles area. For instance, Yuri Lowenthal is one of them. Anyway, the anime just sucked altogether, in both dubbed and Japanese version, just that the English-licensed version made it worse, especially when it comes to taking out the original music (like the opening), not using the right voices for the characters, shitty edits, etc. It' just like what happened to Prince of Tennis when it was dubbed. So, I settled for the manga of ES21
