One of the best-orchestrated "pop" songs ever...listen for the bright opening of the woodwinds-- and the piccolo solos at the end...and the bassoons at the beginning and throughout the song. Check for the trombones...the bass keeps the song moving forward; and there is light tamborine work in the song. The vocal suspensions of the singers "oooooos" at key points in the song that complement the lead singer's voice--Motown really knew how to orchestrate a song in those days!

The Motown artists you mentioned as well as numerous others on the label had what it took to make great songs.
