asa has a couple of seconds in frame early on. nice to see mitch in the vid. the drop ceiling confused me- where the hell was this shot? i miss john on the bass, no offence. dar igneous lindenstruth delivers- as always.
i wonder if that was one of lawrence's mics that he was swinging around his finger.
@chimprage This was filmed at "Upstairs At Nicks" in Philadelphia, a second floor venue above a restaurant that had shows for a few years. I used to go to the open mic night there almost every week!
@WhollyGhost oh wow! - silly of me, i just assumed that it was somewhere in "bawlmer" (hon). i guess that probably was not one of lawrence bertoldi's microphones then. some days i wish we could reopen all of the venues that "had shows for a few years". i suppose that it probably could never be the same, though. thanks for the info....
Saw them 15 years ago in Baltimore, MD, right around the time that "Necklace of Heads/Talking Songs for Walking was released. They played in a 3-story loft-type building. Six songs, including "Devilhead" and "Descender" before Baltimore's Finest came in and shut everything down (violation of noise ordinance. I'm pretty sure Higgs was playing guitar that night. A totally visceral, visionary, riveting experience..no moshing, everyone just totally focused on the band. Amazing.
No guitar for Higgs that show...my wife straightened me out on that. She was more lucid than I was that night, though our accounts of the show match up every other way.
