steam punk is set on the 19 century. The Victorian era takes like 800 years of it. Of course Steam punk was inspired mainly from the literature from the period (Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, Mark Twain, and Mary Shelley), more than the actual history itself.
PS:And yes this series looks like a selection of scenes that makes you point and say hey isn't that from that movie/video-game scene?!!

I thought it was hillarious that we were suppose to think that a "NORMAL" looking maternity ward was secretly sinister, and that the doctors story about the crazy ranting women sounded equally sinister. Yet our heroins response is to nod and then run like hell. The acting didnt really make me belive it. Not at all. I give this series 2 thumbs WAY down.

The second episode is nearly as good as the first. And the acting of the Empress in too contrived, too over-acted. But I do like the addition of Asgard in to the mix.
I just don't find the actress believable as a heroine. She's utterly stiff and too delicate for the role. I really like the effort, but this series suffers from too much pretty and not enough depth.
The girl's acting is so bad everytime she looks at the wolf (hybrid) she looks scared. I keep thinking, "Why does she keep looking at the dog like that? Is that her only expression"?

I like how this "Steampunk" on the run in the woods, just got in a fight, girl has such nice hair and as always, fucking gorgeous. Maybe one day they will have a show with a main character that looks average. Every bad sci-fi show always has attractive leads. Apparently any hero or anti-hero in the fucking universe is hot.

It's one of these 'high on concept' shows which really offers no character dev, no real reason to care about anything or anyone in this imaginary world ... but somehow the concept is "so cool" that we are supposed to think it's brilliant.
Although I really like steam- and cyberpunk, there must be a reason for all the gadgetry for it to be immersive. Sure cool goggles, but what are they for? Same goes for the advisor guy.
And like others mentioned, the fact that she has been on the road for some time, been trough a fight, been unconcious for a while should really do something to all that makeup.
I don't know if it just cliche or a reference, but that "Watch it!" with the crates lind is ooold.
I love how when Riese leaves the hospital she has no goggles and then in the next scene they appear again. What are they for anyway? And what happened to her wolf-dog friend? And when does this take place. I mean the hospital looks rather modern with all it's well-packaged bandages and supplies, but the outside looks ancient.
The story line IS getting more interesting though and at least, Riese is kind of a HOTTIE!!!
pretty sure they are going to be used for the process of turning them into some sort of soldiers. the rejects turned into slave labor. then we can see the army of an empire built with steam punk mechanical apparatus. a half human half machine type. then a war ensues or is prevented and the loss of many characters will follow in a "we tried, its so tragic. but its over now" theme. =)
Actually, the gears/mechanical bits on the costumes/people basically amount to status symbols among the followers of the Sect. The more relics, as they're called, the higher up you are. Obviously, Trennan and Empress Amara are special cases, but still, that's the general gist of it. No cyborgs for us. ;)
Is this a fantastical universe or a post apocalyptic Earth? Also, just because you hot glue some sprockets to a costume doesn't make the character part mechanical. Reminiscent of the mechanical man from Hell Boy.

the old tattoo on the wrist trick while the babies in crates are sacrificed to the queen in blood on the map and the girl wakes in a hospital ward and the extras bring the girl out to provide exposition until the doctor makes her exit and the baby dolly shots are all the editor has to work with in this poorly directed scripted and hackneyed piffle that wants to be on tv
So the Sect controls this town, and the doctor is taking all the babies and shipping them to the Sect for fodder in Sect brainwashing and control of the population. We know his tatoo identified him to her, and we saw she had a tatoo that had been burned off. The opening started as a flashback to her past that morphed into her waking - wonder if she went through the same thing these mothers are going through? I think the eps could be a touch longer, but great stuff nonetheless.
Definitely better than the last episode and the aesthetic is still great. The pacing could really use some work though. It feels more like a cut up episode of a television show then a webseries. I suspect it will be great when combined but it leaves the individual pieces weak on their own.

Wow. Pharmaceuticals are cheap in the future. Just pass out on the hospital steps and after they fix you split before they bill you. This is the reason healthcare is so friggin messed up. The tatoo on the doc means what that he belongs to some hostel murderers society. Come on be original. Why would they let a female in charge. Haven't they gotten any smarter in the future. She treated that guy like the child she will never have. Still smuggling humans to. Do we ever get smarter. Geez
This show is awesome. This show did in 8 minutes what SGU couldn't in 4 hours, hook me into the story. Great show cannot wait for the rest of the series
If you read the back story on the site, you'd know that wolves have been tagged as unlawful and endangering and Fenrir must keep to the woods when Riese enters a village.

the old tattoo on the wrist trick while the babies in crates are sacrificed to the queen in blood on the map and the girl wakes in a hospital ward and the extras bring the girl out to provide exposition until the doctor makes her exit and the baby dolly shots are all the editor has to work with in this poorly directed scripted and hackneyed piffle that wants to be on tv

So the Sect controls this town, and the doctor is taking all the babies and shipping them to the Sect for fodder in Sect brainwashing and control of the population. We know his tatoo identified him to her, and we saw she had a tatoo that had been burned off. The opening started as a flashback to her past that morphed into her waking - wonder if she went through the same thing these mothers are going through? I think the eps could be a touch longer, but great stuff nonetheless.

Definitely better than the last episode and the aesthetic is still great. The pacing could really use some work though. It feels more like a cut up episode of a television show then a webseries. I suspect it will be great when combined but it leaves the individual pieces weak on their own.

Wow. Pharmaceuticals are cheap in the future. Just pass out on the hospital steps and after they fix you split before they bill you. This is the reason healthcare is so friggin messed up. The tatoo on the doc means what that he belongs to some hostel murderers society. Come on be original. Why would they let a female in charge. Haven't they gotten any smarter in the future. This show is awesome. This show did in 8 minutes what SGU couldn't in 4 hours, hook me into the story. Great show cannot wait for the rest of the series
