Yep the Sabbath is no longer needed. Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God not of works least any man should boast.
Many Christians adopt the aspects of the Jewish law, Because, there is this nostalgia about being Jewish and gaining favor with God, But we must remember, there is no Respecters of persons with God (ROMANS 2:11)
So be careful not to put trust in our own righteousness and take our eyes for the cross, Because Jesus will work in us until he returns (1 Corinthians 13:9-13)
This is something people will Keep arguing about for a long time, You know why? Because many people feel like they can repay God, In essence, we believe that we can make it on our own. BUT, this we must be careful with, Because.... this is like saying Gods way is not perfect enough and we need to add our own Righteousness.
"I hear some of you saying, ‘Yes, but we are no longer under the Law.’ You are partially right. We are under grace, freed from the Law’s punishment by Jesus’ death and resurrection. Has the Law also passed away? As the apostle, Paul, says, ‘God forbid.’ Rather, only the laws found in ordinances were nailed to the cross of Christ, as Paul has taught us."
@KennethBro1 You quote the word of the Lord out of context (best you read verses before and after). So you consider yourself righteous? There are none who are righteous apart from the Lord our Righteousness... YahuShua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ)
Embrace the Lord your Righteousness and live according to His new covenant as He Himself showed us and not according to men's doctrines.
@SevenWithoutCeasing I said Those in the faith are made righteous, I didn't say we ourselves are righteous, Only Christ is righteous, He makes us right by the faith he gives us,We are never righteous in ourselves, Concerning subject of law,And how it should be used, I just posted video titled, (Why Law) Read text,,We're never righteous in ourselves,
@KennethBro1 2Co 10:7 Do you look at things only as they appear in front of your face? If anyone trusts in himself that he is Messiah’s, let him consider this again with himself, that, even as he is Messiah’s, so also we are Messiah’s.
2Co 10:8 For though I should boast somewhat abundantly concerning our authority, (which the Lord gave for building you up, and not for casting you down) I will not be disappointed,
2Co 10:9 that I may not seem as if I desire to terrify you by my letters.
"The Law of the Ten Commandments is now established in us and fulfilled by Jesus, who is the only One who has never transgressed, who also said, “It is easier for Heaven and earth to pass away than one letter of the Law to fail” (Matthew 5:18); and again, saying, “Whoever breaks one of these least commandments, and shall teach others to do so, shall be called least in the Kingdom; but whoever teaches others to keep them, shall be called great in the Kingdom” (Matthew 5:19)... "
"Jesus, also being the same One who taught us the Law anew, and how to obey it. Why teach us of that which has passed away? So then, if Jesus remembered the Sabbath and the apostles remembered the Sabbath, how is it then we have forgotten it?!"
~ excerpt from Letters From God and His Christ - Volume 6 - Saturday is the Sabbath...The Ten Commandments Stand Forever
(or seek to justify not keeping it, as it was commanded to be kept, through men's understanding)
Child, I see a gradual drifting into the Laodecian religion of love everybody. Christ responded to the Pharesees according to their perversion of the true meaning of Sabbath, He was not speaking of love at all. God's law of Sabbath is a Statute Forever, We are told that after we claim to beleive, there remains one thing, "Entering into his Rest" Heb 4: 1 .In God's Kingdom no one must serve the Beast,(Jobs) all MUST depend on God, that's Sabbath. This is how we know who's a true believer & not.
@healtheducators You think having a job is serving the beast? What do the Holy Ghost-inspired Scriptures say?
"For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread." 2 Thess 3:11-12
@Enoch2 Based on your response I assume you believe Christianity is of God. No Child, your response is natural of Christians who are lawless. He NEVER abolished the Law, Rom 3: 31, rather, in the NC he engraves the Law in the heart of his ppl Heb 8:10, Rom 2: 15;. We see the real Church at the Transfiguration it’s the Kingdom of God & consists of the King indwelt in his Bride, the LAW & the Prophet. Christians are the VINE of the earth Rev 14:18-20; Isa 63, but Christ is the TRUE Vine, Jn 15.
"And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." Acts 11:26
But there are those who have gone out from us (1 Jn 2:18-19), their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter.
@healtheducators Love everybody,Laodecian religion Rule: Love your neighbor This can be looked at two ways, As a rule: Meaning we have to ourselves try and love because law says so, Or in faith: Meaning that we can't love rightly,Because nothing good lives in us, By faith we look to Christ,In return he places love in our hearts, Romans 5:5 Its Christ who loves through us, Philippians 2:13 He's the savior after all,We can do nothing on our own,
"Churches of men, My face is turned against you, for you are neither cold, nor hot... I wish you were either one or the other. Since you have become as lukewarm water, even now becoming stagnant and rank, behold, I shall spit you from My mouth, and bring upon your land a dark storm. For your land has done great evil in My sight; and you, oh churches of men, have held fast to the veil, pulling it down over your faces."- excerpt from Letters from God and His Christ, volume 7
@SevenWithoutCeasing Timothy sadly is a false teacher. I'm making a video on this subject today, come back and see it!
Unless you come to believe the Gospel of your salvation (Eph 1:12-13), that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead, you will always be restlessly going from one human teacher to another, never finding the truth.
Rev 3:18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.
Rev 3:15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;
Many Sabbatarians have hospitals with people on the operation tables on Saturdays . How can it be that the sabbatarians today would be in complete agreement with the pharisees? As Jesus said the Sabbath was ALWAYS for man and not man for the sabbath. This is true for every commandment. You talk of the law like God made a mistake and then had to do better with grace. No Grace ins what happened at the cross. He took our place completely because we cannot obey the law. Yes we cannot love.Even now.
Paul didn't omit the first of the 2 great commandments. He was talking in the context of the second. There is a incredible number of text in the knew testament about loving God isn't there.
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another- Romans 13.8 That is the context of this reading nothing to do with the Sabbath. Also we are not under the condemnation of the law because we are REDEEMED by Grace. You cannot be redeemed if the law does not stand. "Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law. " Romans 3:31
Now if a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing a man’s whole body on the Sabbath? John 7:23 here you see that the Mosaic law in contrasted with the 10 comandaments by Jesus Himself.
if you don't help someone whom you can help you are doing evil. And the legalistic pharisees would not realize that in the hardness of their heart they were doing evil in order to "obey" the Sabbath. But it was NEVER NEVER WRONG to help someone on the Sabbath. Do you think it was lawful to destroy life in the old testament?
@thatsmrtoyoubuddy Hmmm, nice featured video, I'm just watching it now...yes, I consider Roman Catholicism to be a group Rom 10 speaks about...Israel. Not REALLY Israel but since they call themselves Israel God has allowed them to come to closely resemble the apostate Israel that did not accept the Messiah. Hence the canon Law, Pharisaical leadership, repeated sacrifices in the form of the mass, queen of heaven, etc. Some portions of this group may fit the bill of synagogue of Satan!
@thatsmrtoyoubuddy Hey thanks for your nice comment! I hear what you are saying but on the other hand I hope you will recognize the 'advocates of the Jewishness of Jesus' Paul was contending against in Galatians. Look at what the Ruach HaKodesh said of them:
"I would they were even cut off which trouble you. For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another." Gal 5:12-13
Is it ever lawful to do ill to your neighbor ? I think that concept holds true all days of the week - we dont just stop doing ill to our neighbor on the sabbath - we stop it all 7 days of the week. Jesus showed that its okay to do good on the sabbath - like healing but I highly doubt Jesus built houses on the sabbath. To say people that obey the sabbath are like the pharisees is a gross misrepresentation. In context the pharisees were upset when he healed on the sabbath that was the argument.
@fernieboy100 Well, what do you think about this? Jesus was under the Law and we aren't.
"But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons." Gal 4:4-5
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." Rom 8:14
"But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law." Gal 5:18
Christ was under the Law to deliver us from the Law.
The Sabbath is the Rest of God. so then we are not to do our own works which is what we should not be doing every day. we are to do the works of the Lord EVERY day. In this we enter into His rest (His spirit). This is the Sabbath to walk and abide in His Spirit for the Lord rested from all His works on the Seventh Day. so too we rest from OUR Works for as our father Works so do we.
(cont1) Last point. All is not fulfilled until the day he comes back to setup his kingdom. Sorry, the laws are still in affect. Now, does it have to be x day? No, it doesn't. It says, six days shall you work but on the 7th day you shall rest. G-d doesn't need rest or need it from us to service him. The commendment is for us so that we still healthy. No one is meant to work all of the time. They have to rest. The land has to rest. If you work all of the time then you will die fast.
@Gruurk2 Here's what I mean about the Sabbath. It is not lawful to work ill to your neighbour on the Sabbath--to do so is God's definition of working on the Sabbath, which is the violation. Loving your neighbour works no ill--either on the Sabbath or any other day. When you walk in the Spirit you love your neighbour continuously. So walk in the Spirit and you keep the Sabbath and you don't even need to notice what day it is, cause you're NOT WORKING (ill) EVERY DAY! Rest in Christ the Day.
@Enoch2 God's definition of working on the sabbath is not to sin, in fact the all commandment says: work six days and rest on the seventh, so I guess to work was to sin for six days. NO I am confused did the fareesees sin on the sabbath, too?
(cont) What was the 10 commandments written on? It was stone. These are counterstone laws. Now, lets go by what you said. If we don't have to follow the 10 commandments then whatelse can we do. How about this? "you shall have no other gods before me". Now, if we love each other and we are atheist then have we not fulfilled that which you said? You have and you are just avoiding the point. You want to know if you can heal on the sabbath. Not should have or honor it.
@Gruurk2 If we love our neighbour we will not have any gods before God for God is love. Can atheists love? Jesus says yes (Matt 5:46). But can they love those who don't love them? It takes the Spirit of God to love one's enemies--love is a fruit of the Spirit, and we know we have passed from death to life because we love the brethren. So being filled with the Spirit and walking in the Spirit completes the Law automatically, without needing to "focus in the Law" as brother Edward put it.
@Gruurk2 So that which was written on stones has been done away, it's glory is done away, and it even HAD no glory in this respect, by reason of the ministration of the spirit which excels in glory.
The author of Hebrews says when God spoke of a New covenant, He declared the old one to be old, and that which is old is ready to vanish away. For those saved by Jesus there is the New Covenant--we don't break the law, walking in the Spirit naturally fulfils it w/o trying to obey it by letter.
Well, you are jumping around trying to prove that which is not so. Matthew 5:17-18 "Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah -- not until everything that must happen has happened." Now your points wasn't was should the sabbath should be kept or not. You made point if you should do good on it.
Amen! When we are filled by the Holy Spirit, we bear the fruit of love and thus, complete all of the Law. We don't focus in the Law, we focus on being filled with the Spirit and walking with Him and He controls our life (Rom 6:16)
Break one commandment you break them all, there are 10 commandments not 9....And no, the modern day pharisees are not the Jews in Israel, they are the Brood viper fallen angel bloodline Christ was referring to, the pharisees today are on TV everyday destroying the world, and oh yeah, they want you to worship Sundays for the sun god..........wake up already Christians, Keep your Sabbaths Holy.
Great video It's pretty true the pharisees would conjoin well with sabbath keepers. And it's not really to do anything to the sabbath but teach that Jesus fulfills the law and the love of Jesus Christ in us surpasses that. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
@miramaeluvu05 Amen! I wish more people would understand that the Law brings us all guilty before God. But it points to Jesus' righteousness. If the majority of Jews had understood that the Law describes Jesus and not us, they would perhaps have not been so envious of Jesus that they wanted to kill Him.
@Enoch2 that's true the Law did describe His perfection that we can't obtain out of our own will power. And they were also insanely envious of Him. The only thing is to be covered in His grace. Amen praise Jesus Christ, we all be in for it if it wasn't for Him. Great reminder God's mercies truly are new everyday. We have yet touch on every detail of things God's done for us!
@MrOwlDre The Sabbath Day is Saturday but the Lord's Day, the day the Lord Jesus was raised from the dead, is Sunday. I go to church on Sunday but I try to rest in the Lord always, whether working or not.
@Enoch2 I rest in the Lord always, is a very philosophical statement. Every christian must rest in the lord. Do you think Moses did not rest in the Lord always. The sabbath was not a shadow this is an invented doctrine. Look at the Sabbath in the new testament: Luke 23:56 Revelation 1;10. read colossian 2 carefully it talks about shadows of things that are to come, not that were to come. And these did not include the sabbath in the Decalogue anyway. Matthew 7:23 the 2 laws are contrasted.
Yep the Sabbath is no longer needed. Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God not of works least any man should boast.
