Avery brought a new angle to hockey... Football has ocho cinco and TO, baseball had Roberto Alomar and now Manny, Basketball has Ron artest... Like him or hate him, the NHL needed Avery to reach that next plateau. Everyone loved to hate him, the man was a social genius and knew how to boost ratings and make fans feel more involved. All you haters out there don't understand the concept of marketing! The current way we're selling the game isnt working, Sean had unorthodox view on it and it worked!
