The accent is detectable when she's singing in English, it's true - and it's very charming. Keiko's voice is reminiscent of Karen's - but she isn't Karen. Nevertheless, the fact that she is making a career for herself with this voice, singing these songs, is a wonderful monument to Karen Carpenter. Keiko reminds us of Karen, she makes us think of her, she makes us listen to Karen again, she prompts us to look at Youtube videos of the one and only Karen Carpenter. And that's wonderful.
