This game showed human nature in its most basic form: That though the bombs dropped, life continued, people made the best and worst of their situations - Out of all of this, they continued to be sarcastic, witty, make humor of their situation and even entertain themselves.
Though, through the laughs and surreal gestures in the Wasteland, only one thing was there to constantly remind the player of the true dire situation that human kind is in this Post-Apocalyptic future:
@MrThejoshmon it suits more like a giant bone yard where people died fighting and only dusts and echos remain, other than the death claws and scavengers, wish they made a location like that in New vegas in the far corner of the map, like just wide open space with sand and bones all over with death claws and dusts storms, dead scavengers and a town at the far side of it
You can't comprare the masterpiece that Fallout 1 and 2 are compared to Fallout 3.
Yes, they're all great games. But Fallout 1 & 2 gave me a feeling i cannot describe. The game is so immersive and fun, indeed one of the best RPG's of all time.
@Crnic99 when i visited ceasar, I went with my companion boone, we went up into his tent, and shot him in the forehead with a fucking 50.cal incendiary bullet then i dispatched the guards outside his tent, anyways great game and sountrack, every single time i hear it it gives me a picture of a town with ceasars legion raiders crucifying innocent people and burning people alive, and the next thing you no, some NCR patrol come through to find it a pile of burning and bloodied rubble, nipton
"Los Angeles must have been the largest city in the world before the War. The LA Boneyard stretched on forever, the skeletons of buildings lying under the hot sun... not even the wind would enter this dead city."
I think I remember this one from Fallout 2's... Uh... That mission where you're investigating the (supposed) murders and mutilations at some farmstead. As a kid, I literally had nightmares about the place. I almost had to stop playing because of it. =(
I'm having a lot of trouble with the soundtrack for this game. I can't extract anything as an MP3 file. I did this about a year ago, on my old PC, but the new one somehow can't manage it. Any ideas on how/where I can get MP3 files of the OST for this?
Rarg *you got a cripled leg*, Rarg "OMFG stupid Deathclaw let me do something" Rarg... Finally my turn! shoot the monster for 3 points of damage... Rarg, Death... =(
This soundtrack perfectly suited the quests in the Boneyard. I remember going up against the Deathclaws with my power armor and plasma rifle. It makes you feel like a fucking badass!
This song stuck with me the most because not only was it similar to the one used in the intro narration, but it was simply haunting and tragic. It just got to me, especially when I was doing the quest in the Boneyard where the mayor or whoever sends you to kill off the Blades because they supposedly murdered his son, but it turned out to be his own guards who did it. After you bring back evidence of this he flips and it erupts into a town-wide battle with the guards. Great game.
Yeah..That quest was intense... The whole town went haywire. I was glad I picked up my turbo-plasma rifle and hardend 51-T power armour before the "civil war" started.. >_>
@arkainjalex12 Best part of that town-wide battle in Adytum: planting a bunch of powerful weapons on the peasants so that then the fight breaks out, they absolutely decimate the guards

Trial and error , thats basically what it comes down to. You have to figure out some things and you might just have to start a new character

Fallout 3 should have just recycled the music from the old games, period.
