@77corhay she most definitely does not have a british accent lol just because you live somewhere for a while doesn't mean you get that accent.where ever you were brought up determines the accent you will have for the rest of your life unless you learn a new language then obviously you get the accent from whoever you learnt it from.my mum and dad are both british and have lived in australia for over 20 years and you can still tell they're british.

I don't think it has weakened at all, in "You Will Only Break My Heart" she hit's a super high full chest note just like she did in 'I was born to try'.
I am not a huge fan of hers, i am a Vanessa Amorosi guy but my opinion is not biased either,check out my video of 5 Of Australia's greatest female artists it has the high note from You will only break my heart right next to the one from i was born to try.
It's slow compared to her other performances of this song but it's still very good. Her voice is almost flawless when she hits the high notes and I hear no breaks.

How can any of you think that performance was good? Stop the rediculous one eyed bs about how nervous she was. Nerves didn't make her change the way the entire song was sung, with the exception of the main couple of verses, to the point where it's unrecognisable. FFS, she didn't even sing half the words properly or audibly. I know live performances tend to be sung with artistic variation but she totally butchered the song. You are kidding yourself if you think it was good. Get a hearing test!

Delta is going to be the next Celine Dion here in the USA. She is incredible. She just performed last night in SLC at a fundraiser for the Huntsman Cancer Institute and she was spectacular. She is a cancer survivor herself. I met her afterwards because she stayed to sign autographs and let everyone get a picture with her. She is beautiful inside and out. Google her and you will see how big she is all over the world.
She didn't go from singing into her hair brush in front of her dressing table mirror straight to Letterman, she has a tonne of experience, so stop putting it down to nerves, you can't use that as an excuse... She always sucks live! I have seen her on quite a few tv shows and her voice is terrible, it goes to show how much work they have to do in the studio to make her sound decent. As far as high standards go? Well she's supposed to be a professional singer and this letterman gig was supposed to be her big break, alot of other performers would have delievered!

WOW ... as a HUGE Delta fan since 2004 I was thoroughly not impressed with this performance of "In This Life" at all! She really botched it - sounded flat and also really tried to almost over-sell it! Not one of her better performances at all and not a good way to try and drum up for her US-CD.
I'm really surprised with how many people think the View was much better. My fam and friends all thought the View performance was pretty rocky, and they all thought this one was fantastic, and for the most part, so did I. I found the View to be uncharacteristically pitchy for her. One of the reasons I like her is that she's usually pitch perfect, and after studying vocal myself for years, I can't stand it when people are off. I really thot this one was like 1000 times better than the View.
I understand all that, but this most certainly is not her best performance - similar to the one earlier on Rove this year. She must have been nervous though, I'll give her that. I just hope she doesn't do this at her concert next year... :( I still love her though! :)
While this is a powehouse of a song, it is also exceptionally difficult to perform due to its range and phrasing, which requires incredible breath control. It's kind of a 'Russian roulette' type song, because it's impossible with that difficulty factor to be perfect every time. Kudos to her for keeping it interesting for us by performing it differently nearly every time.
Yah she's singing the verses with a weird accent. The choruses are fine, heaps better than the one she did with Brian live *eek* she even mentioned the bummed notes but she did have a cold at the time haha

She was way more relaxed here that at the View. She even said on the View that she was really nervous, and I talked to her outside both shows afterwards (and before) and she seemed a lot happier after this one than the View. Which I would agree with, I honestly thought this one was much better.

Delta did the opposite of what most singer/actors in the U.S do, she was always a great singer but starting acting in a popular show called "Neighbours" to get exposure for her music. After being an actor on neighbours for a few years, she quit her acting and released a new album which exploded.
Unlike most try-hard singers/actors who are only good at one talent(or like Paris NEITHER), Delta was great at both. Her heart was always in the singing however which is why she only does this now.

Delta is an AMAZING singer, I have alot of respect for her, but I think she was probably nervous as anything in this performance, she still sounded amazing, just a bit nervous.

How can any of you think that performance was good? Stop the rediculous one eyed bs about how nervous she was. Nerves didn't make her change the way the entire song was sung, with the exception of the main couple of verses, to the point where it's unrecognisable. FFS, she didn't even sing half the words properly or audibly. I know live performances tend to be sung with artistic variation but she totally butchered the song. You are kidding yourself if you think it was good. Get a hearing test!

I don't see where she changed the song very much... It sounded almost exactly like the CD. If you listen to her live performances, she usually changes the song just a little bit.

what are you comparing her to? a voice that has been fixed by a computer? I think your comment is WRONG. She wrote the song - its HERS to do with what she wants. This exact performance was the first time I heard thisparticular song... and it was THIS performance that made me GET the CD. You aren't Simon Cowell and based on your remarks I doubt if you know the ins and outs of being a performer or recording artist. Throw a comment if you have something to back it up.

That was shit but she's been around for years in Australia, she can sing live I've never heard her this shit before, but look up her on Rove Live or the Today show or something like that in Australia from before.
This is also one of her worse songs, if you like this look at her old songs Born to Try, Innocent Eyes, Predictable, Mistaken Identity, Not Me Not I etc.

I have no idea how ANYONE can say she can't sing. She's incredible, and to perform a song this difficult on a LIVE talkshow where she prob couldn't even hear herself.... while playing the piano at the same time says a lot about her musicianship. How refreshing! Thanks for keeping it real, Delta!

here's the truth. she doesn't need or want your support if you think she isn't unprecedented and unmatched in vocals. you're going to say, she's the next this or that? like some predecessor had excellent vocals and pitch like she does? don't compare her to US artists cause most of them suck and don't even resemble the CD version, in a live performance.

theres a difference between constructive criticism, and negative comments! i don't think shes trying to be anything or anyone else other than herself. i think giving her the benefit of the doubt would be a good place to start. she has never given a bad performance and if this was bad it was still tollerable and entertaing. she may have been sick on the night, etc.

Delta is going to be the next Celine Dion here in the USA. She is incredible. She just performed last night in SLC at a fundraiser for the Huntsman Cancer Institute and she was spectacular. She is a cancer survivor herself. I met her afterwards because she stayed to sign autographs and let everyone get a picture with her. She is beautiful inside and out. Google her and you will see how big she is all over the world.

She always sucks live! I have seen her on quite a few tv shows and her voice is terrible, it goes to show how much work they have to do in the studio to make her sound decent. As far as high standards go? Well she's supposed to be a professional singer and this letterman gig was supposed to be her big break, alot of other performers would have delievered!

WOW ... as a HUGE Delta fan since 2004 I was thoroughly not impressed with this performance of "In This Life" at all! She really botched it - sounded flat and also really tried to almost over-sell it! Not one of her better performances at all and not a good way to try and drum up for her US-CD.

I'm really surprised with how many people think the View was much better. My fam and friends all thought the View performance was pretty rocky, and they all thought this one was fantastic, and for the most part, so did I. I found the View to be uncharacteristically pitchy for her. One of the reasons I like her is that she's usually pitch perfect, and after studying vocal myself for years, I can't stand it when people are off. I really thot this one was like 1000 times better than the View.

I understand all that, but this most certainly is not her best performance - similar to the one earlier on Rove this year. She must have been nervous though, I'll give her that. I just hope she doesn't do this at her concert next year... :( I still love her though! :)

While this is a powehouse of a song, it is also exceptionally difficult to perform due to its range and phrasing, which requires incredible breath control. It's kind of a 'Russian roulette' type song, because it's impossible with that difficulty factor to be perfect every time. Kudos to her for keeping it interesting for us by performing it differently nearly every time.

Yah she's singing the verses with a weird accent. The choruses are fine, heaps better than the one she did with Brian live *eek* she even mentioned the bummed notes but she did have a cold at the time haha

listen to the 52sec-54sec bit...that was a obvious error...umm i spose if you listen to the view, max sessions you can hear more relaxed, more control and less talk like singing...it preety much sounded like she was dead nervous at the start and then mid way through the performance she got control and really into it...

She was way more relaxed here that at the View. She even said on the View that she was really nervous, and I talked to her outside both shows afterwards (and before) and she seemed a lot happier after this one than the View. Which I would agree with, I honestly thought this one was much better.

LOL!! She may have seemed happier but that wasnt reflected in the performance. I couldn't even tell she was nervous in the view. It just sounded sooo goood. Like the notes were all in range and the sound was just awesome...but anyways lol...she still is an exceptional artist :)

saw this performance on tv and was completely blown away. first sight of her i was like, "delta? letterman? GOTTA SEE!" and im no die hard delta fan aswell.
gotta say i was pretty proud. that performance probably wasnt the best but she got all the big notes and looked great doing it. its a better performance than america's rhianna or katy perry.

Anyone with a brain can sense she is tired probably jet lagged and run into the ground by her managers! Watch her performance on The View she had all her energy that day! We all have bad days as were only human. Delta is extreemly gifted.

Delta did the opposite of what most singer/actors in the U.S do, she was always a great singer but starting acting in a popular show called "Neighbours" to get exposure for her music. After being an actor on neighbours for a few years, she quit her acting and released a new album which exploded.
Unlike most try-hard singers/actors who are only good at one talent(or like Paris NEITHER), Delta was great at both. Her heart was always in the singing however which is why she only does this now.
