  • OMG, Tom Baker has regenerated into John Pertwee!!!

  • is he gay? i had no clue.

  • I love Tom Baker. Only Dave Tennant was as good. I hope that Doctor Who writers bring him back for a special show.

  • Loved him as the Doctor and Puddleglum!

  • Liked him as the Doctor and LOVED him as Rasputin!

  • Epic voice!

  • This is beautiful. Fantastic storyteller...

  • don't suppose you have the rest of this interview ? thanks for posting :)

  • I could listen to him all day. Watch his Who episodes from time to time still. His performance is timeless. A great actor. Would be great if he was on our screens more often.

  • Dr your curly hair is on your head. Where is your long scarf ???

  • This is the best Dr Who ever!!!

  • A much different man than the Doctor. Heh, oh well. :) I still miss the dude, and wish he'd played the Doctor for a couple more seasons.

  • I love me some Doctor Who!!! Especially the 4th Doctor!!! I first got into Doctor Who after watching the Paul McGann movie & borrowed everything I could about it from the local library and pretty soon, Tom Baker became my favorite!!! It still is!!! I even dressed up as the 4th Doctor at Dragon*Con & met Peter Davidson there!!!

  • Wow, he has all of his hair!

  • @xFatherOfJoex yeah a lot of people do, never knew it was weird

  • HUMANS : our intestinal tracts are too long, which allows for prolonged putrefaction of meat and a prolonged period to sit for the poisonous nitrogenous acids (urea & uric) that this rotting, slow-moving mass carries (kidney disease, atherosclerosis/arteriosclerosis, gout & arthritis plague modern Westerners who consume 3 servings of meat daily).

  • @ElHombreConDosOjos He's not THAT kind of Doctor, you sweet little pinhead. You are right, though. Our digestive tracts are just too damned long. Who the hell designed these bodies anyway????

  • "his like a big frog thats died"

    GEnius

  • Very funny and Very Interesting! :)

  • view this interview full screen pause it and view frame by frame you will see quite a bit of eye , teeth , lips and facial structure morphing all tell tale sighns of holographic breakdown.. if u know what your looking for its actuall quite obvious .. but you dont have to believe me if you dont want to. have fun staying ignorant to the truth view for your self you will see these same anamolies in every tom baker interview

  • tom baker is a reptillian shapeshifter

  • @pnd51010 And you're a Dalek. :D

  • @pnd51010 and Im a cake

  • thumbs up if u know who BACON was !

  • Like Tom,wrote to him as a kid and he sent me loads of who stuff. Also wrote to the master and he was lovely and sent me a folder full of scripts and photos.Even got a signed picture of K9,not sure how he wrote his name though.Peter Davidson didn't reply,F**k you Peter.Only joking.

  • Tom was fantastic! and you know so were and are all the Doctors!

  • He has an awesome voice!

  • Very interesting, thanks.

    Zip

  • i wonder what doctor who would be like if Tom stayed until Series 5 of the new doctor who!

  • A lot better.

  • Toms about 76 now

  • the rest of the video can be found here on you tube its called Tom Baker Rare Interview (early 90s) - Part 1. all the parts are there

  • Tom never tires of his adoring fans. He is such a nice welcoming man.

  • He is the greatest time Lord o all time?, he loves the role, the man likes to think of him self as the god of the doctor who world but doesn't want to take part of any special episode? bollocks to him

  • I adore this man. I loved him as Doctor Who and just listening to him here, he is wonderfully intelligent, charming and a delight.

  • If he lost weight and dyed his hair brown, he's look the same and could still play the Dr. Afterall, he was the BEST Dr. Who. lol

  • Jon Pertwee is my personal favourite, with Tom Baker and David Tennant tied in second place.

  • this is sooo funny i think i enjoy him more now seeing these new interviews then when i watched him as dr who!

  • He is a nice bloke. My mate Alan was at a convention a good few years back and had gone into town for lunch when he thought he recognised the man walking in front. He said to his mate'That guy in front looks like Tom Baker' at which the man turned around and said 'because I am Tom Baker'. He signed stuff and chatted.

    Marvellous!

  • still wearin a scarf.. love it =)

  • what happened to the part before this ? the beginning of the interview ? I can only find this and parts 2 and 3

  • ok, it sure sounds like Tom is talking about being gay.. yet people say he isn't....he is relating stories of his own life and memories

  • @xadam2dudex

He isn't, read his Bio and you'll read about how the female Dr Who fans would literally be throwing themselves at him and banging on the door to his room! :)

  • Brilliant as the doctor, my favourite Dr who, he's obviously got an incredible sense of humour.

  • love this guy

  • always performing, is Tom... always... he lives for the limelight, as he so freely admits. =)

  • you "ounce made him laugh"? 16 laughs = 1 pound lol

  • Tom's Doctor was the on I grew up on. Didn't really watch any of the subsequent doctors until the Paul McGann TV movie came on. I think Paul did fine with the material he was given. Must say that the new series is what renewed my interest in Doctor Who. Both Chris Eccleston and David Tennant had very good runs as the Doctor (noticed alot of Tom Baker style personality quirks) On the fence about Matt Smith, but we'll need more than one episode to see whathe can do.

  • @Briannicus yes, Paul is a magnificent Doctor. His tenure is one of my favourites - his many adventures are brilliant, funny and - on BBC7 now - rather like the new series.

  • Is there just the 3 parts of the interview or is there more? Good stuff!

  • does anybody on this planet have a better voice than this man?

  • I thought Tom Died several yrs back.. is he still alive in 2008 ??

  • @xadam2dudex Yes, Tom Baker is very much alive, and will be playing the Doctor again in a new audio series at some point. (The only Doctors that have passed away are William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee. Richard Hurndall from "The Five Doctors" is dead as well.)

  • @NyeTunes yeah I saw an interview a week or so ago Tom did in Dec 2009 on here ...a couple of the supporting characters have passed away as well

  • HE IS THE VOISE OF LITTLE BRITAIN

  • tom has been married 24 years this year to sue i can tell you he is a great guy ive met tom 6 times last year and met tom again on the 6th of this month.he is one great guy .ive been aloyol fan of tom since his dr who days

  • @the4thtimeLord,yeah,he seems a decent guy. I remember seeing him in a strange programme where he played a naughty priest but I cannot remember what it was called

  • tom was the prist in loves and lives of a she devel ive got the dvd very good

  • @TheAlienFan

Your thinking of the four part mini series called she devil. Which is great, i highly recommened it (dont mistake it for the US movie verison)

  • Comment removed

  • WOULD YOU LIKE A JELLY--BABY???

  • What a great story teller. I wish I'd been there. Does anybody know the story behind this interview? It almost seems as if Tom was talking in a pub one day and a crowd gathered and some guy ran home and got his video camera!

  • Does anyone know if he's married? What a sound, nice guy. My Dr Who : 0

  • @TheAlienFan Anna Wheatcroft (19611966), Lalla Ward (19801982), & Sue Jerrard (1986present)

  • HAHAHAHA! This is probably the weirdest and greatest interview with Tom Baker I have ever seen XD

  • What a lovely bloke

  • he sure does move his hands about. tells a good story though. on to part 2...

  • he is part jewish as a jew i move my hands a ton along with a the meshugas in shul

  • Tom is naturally funny. Hit you with a one liner without missing a beat. Great guy..

  • OY! What happened to the end of the story. I was enjoying that then it just ended.....

  • It's continued in Part 2, posted by the same user. There's a 3rd part too... could be more.

  • Oh cheers - I'm still keen to hear the end.....

  • he's doing 4 audio episodes which should be great

  • Wish they would bring him back for the new DR WHO Series... I guess Tom would not be able to cut it ...DR WHO FAN

  • It's called AGE .. we move on as the body gives out . . . ~ it was a good run for sure ... different time ; different place . . .

  • He also did a guest spot in a Blackadder episode...

  • @glennorange Which one??

  • @TheMentalLizzard Itwas Blackadder 2, episode titled Potato.

  • why does he keep being so rude!!

  • tom is not rude you need to meet him he is a kind man and good with his fans ive met tom so many times now he knows me by name .not alot of stars can but he does

  • is tom baker gay?

  • not gay... just grey

  • "I'm not gay. I'm just British."

  • he married Lalla Ward who played Romana, but that only lasted a year but tom is the best , him and david should do a timecrash minni episode they would be amazing!!

  • Great to see Tom talking freely. ;)

  • isnt he the voice from Little Britain?

  • Thats right.

  • yup.The creators hired him because they liked him in Doctor Who when they were kids

  • Couldn`t agree with you more nasty monster!

  • Tom was brilliant as the Doctor, bless him.

  • Who was he getting hard over ?

  • I agree. Tom has that deep, inflection-heavy voice that you could listen to for days. He could read the phone book and it would sound fantastic.

  • he does read the phone book, in a sense. Didn't British Telecom sample his voice for text messages?

  • yes

  • well said

  • His voice is perfect for being a narrator of folklore story prolouges/introductions.....like christopher lee is aswell.

  • Tom is wonderful - could listen to him for hours, great to hear all the gay stories too - that warms the cockles of my heart, irony was i remember so many dr who fans being so homophobic - obviously looking back they were a bunch of closet cases!!!

  • Tom Baker is AS

  • Good old Tom. Bless him. His voice is so awesome that I could just move into his house and listen to him talk .. about anything.. and I would know pure joy for the rest of my life. I want him to do an audiobook of Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The 6 Original Dune Books, Stranger in a Strange Land. And the Vagina Monologues.

  • Tom is the greatest TimeLord of all time:), we know it, pity the teenybops don't!

  • i do! im 17 and tom baker is my favorite, although i do like peter davidson.

    =)

  • Ya there are some of us who dont just prefer the new version. Tom Baker was simply brilliant! Tennant isnt far off his level though.

  • Tom was the best. My other two favorites were Jon Pertwee and Chris Eccelston.

  • Ah Chriss was fucking excellent but no one ever talks about him!!!

  • @sparkythegerbil Very true but life/time does go on. Just a pity that the BBC no longer show the classic series as they used to, anyway there’s always the boxsets!

  • @sparkythegerbil im a 19 yr old american, and he is my favorite.

  • @850kell531 no way, me too! :D

  • @KrystalKobra that voice is better than morgan freeman's. whew. so many doctors borrowed stuff from him. im from florida. you?

  • @sparkythegerbil Amen my friend. I agree totally!

  • Tom Baker & Jon Pertwee were the best Doctors.

  • @Sasfoot

    troughton was my favourite

  • @Sasfoot I agree! Of course the New Dr. Who sucks ass, I'd take any of the old Dr.'s over the new ones.

  • He was the best doctor of all!

  • Tom is very crude but brilliantly funny. Best Doctor.

  • Tom is still a legend!!

Hopefully, they could could get him on the new series, with the other Doctors, somehow.

  • Yes...

They did one reunion episode with Dr.#5. But that is not Tom.

  • Was that dimensions in time?

  • I believe so.

  • It was called Time Crash.

  • Haven't seen it myself, but I don't suppose it was overly importnt in the continuity of the rest of the show. If only they can get Tom to do an episode as a guest or a misplaced Doctor. A guy can dream...

  • I've heard he will be guest appearing in an upcoming Doctor Who, but obviously not as the Doctor.

  • He's changed a lot but he sooooo could appear as the doctor. He could pull it off so easily.

  • Tom Baker and Peter Davison are the best

  • Tom Baker RULES!!!!

  • he certainly does

  • He reminds me of Miriam Margoyles these days.

  • Well, you never see them in the same room together.

  • Heh,you're right. They do look similar! Perhaps because both Miriam and Tom are of Jewish descent. I adore them both.

  • Hi simontimelord

Thanks for uploading an interview with Tom Baker.

  • What an utterly fascinating man.

  • What a brilliant, articulate man. Someone should've tapped him to host Masterpiece Theater.

  • He kind of reminds me of Jon Pertwee now.

  • Hello, I did not film this, it was a chap called Steve. I think it was filmed in November of 1999. I will try and put some more on later. Best Regards Simon.

  • Where oh where did u get this? I soo want more. So candid and funny!

  • Noooooooo! there should be more! *sob* Tom is brillant. How long ago was this taken?

  • This is amazing! Tom's on great form
