  • I never understood the appeal of NASCAR. Watching grass grow would be just as exciting if the grass occasionally got into firery wrecks. I guess when you aren't intelligent enough to understand what an apex is you can only keep up with something like NASCAR.

  • @ZX2Fast i guess when you arent intelligent enough to understand that every nuance that exists in road racing exists in oval racing in one form or another, you can only keep up with something you feel is more visually appealing.. "WOW LOOK, LEFT AND RIGHT!"

  • @vettedude418 Not every nuance. You don't set up a car for a neutral feel. You don't take any type of complex turns and you only have to worry about the same 4 turns (or two long ones) the whole time. It also shows just how simple you are for thinking road racing is only more appealing for 'visual' reasons. These NASCAR drivers couldn't complete with road course racers without some serious re-training.

  • @ZX2Fast oval cars are complete pigs when it comes to negotiating any track..because of this, each driver will have a different setup to fit his style..some drivers prefer loose, tight or neutral cars..the difficult part is keeping it balanced..thats another difference, the oval cars tend to always be unbalanced, part of the reason why they wont set up to be neutral, because they just cant..as for the road racers vs oval racers argument, i have 2 responses

  • @vettedude418 I would also like to point out that I never said the drivers aren't intelligent, just the people who enjoy watching it.

  • @ZX2Fast one, the road racers that have turned to oval racing have failed overall..hornish, JPM, franchitti, patrick, raikkonen, speed, ect..the reason we never see oval racers go to the road side is because theyre quite happy doing what theyre doing.. two, oval racers for the most part already have their grass roots experience as road course racers.. also, i was clearly poking at you with the visual comment, i enjoy and understand all forms of racing..anyone that cant respect a series

  • @vettedude418 BTW, I don't particularly watch road racing either. In fact, I'm not much of a spectator of any sport. Why would I watch it when I would rather do it myself? I do take my own car to the local drag strip but I don't enjoy watching drag racing. I would love to take my car to the local circle track, but I don't enjoy watching it. To each his own, simple or not.

  • @ZX2Fast and understand how difficult it is no matter how simple it looks is simple..

if you can blindly hate a series for something as immature and simple as "they only go left" or prefer something for something as immature and simple as "they go faster" it shows something about your character..if you cant come up with something more intelligent sounding than that to back up your comments then youre the one looking silly

  • @vettedude418 Wow, did I hit a nerve? Go drink some more beer and argue (and get in fights over) whose driver is the best. I grew up in the south, I've grew up watching NASCAR and it has always been boring to me. Like I said, I never understood the appeal of watching cars go in circles. You can get the same level of excitement, or more, watching city traffic cameras. If you like it, good for you, it just isn't exciting to anyone looking for complex entertainment.
