These guys are the best. When I came home with one of my fallen, these guys, not sure if they are the same people, rode along side us as we drove down the road.
I have been to funerals where family came through the line and thanked every one of us. They were truly grateful for our participation. After about the fourth one I couldn't even say you are welcome, I was too choked up to talk so I just smiled and nodded my head. The welcome home events make up for the funerals, those are the greatest.

id like this to be the same around the world here in germany I was at the airport to pick up the brother of a friend of mine and some german soldiers came to me asking mr for money so they could call home cause their plane got earlier than expected I gave them my cellphone and they thanked me a lot cause others just said that they dont give money to soldiers theyre not worth it
i just want to say that i really think that the patriot guard is God's answer to the prayers of all of those families who lost and then had to suffer at the hands of those ungrateful, ungodly, cruel people who hid behind the right those soldiers went to war to fight for.
My great uncle told me about how he was part of one of these biker groups. He said they would stay removed from the family and not get too involved; that they just wanted to be there so they could have a funeral in peace. But one time the group was standing between westboro and a family that lost their son, and the mother went out of her way to shake the hand of every one who had come, thanking them. He said it was hard, and that it was very emotional. That story will stick with me forever.

@Tonymount it was a really good thing to see mostly strangers to a family come to pay respect to a fallen soldier, my dad is in the PGR and I have gone with him to a couple funerals to pay my respects. I have a handful of friends/family serving and it is good to know that if one of them were to not come home to their family they would have a burial that they deserve surrounded by people that care and respect them.

@debjoy12 There are a several women riders. The Patriot Guard does not restrict anyone from joining based on sex, religion, ethnicity, etc. The only requirement is to be a highly patriotic American.
Almost every state has an organized patriot riders group but you do not need to ride a motorcycle to join. Feel free to look up your states website to get information on how you can volunteer for the next "ride" it will make someones bad day a little better.

@Tonymount it was a really good thing to see mostly strangers to a family come to pay respect to a fallen soldier, my dad is in the PGR and I have gone with him to a couple funerals to pay my respects. I have a handful of friends/family serving and it is good to know that if one of them were to not come home to their family they would have a burial that they deserve surrounded by people that care and respect them.

@icthruu4evr OK, first off "be all you can be" is an army slogan. Second, that is not why most people join. When I enlisted, money was the farthest thing from my mind. I did it because I wanted to provide service for my country so someone else wouldn't have to. But with the amount of disrespect I see everywhere, some times I wish conscription was still in place. Maybe then you people would learn a little something about respect.

Almost every state has an organized patriot riders group but you do not need to ride a motorcycle to join. Feel free to look up your states website to get information on how you can volunteer for the next "ride" it will make someones bad day a little better.
