I was 17 in 1992 when I first heard this track on a House Party CD. I remember being blown away by the dark, oneiric sound coming from my Stereo. You could play this Oempa Loempa tune today and nobody would tell it's close to 20 years old. Classic among classics.

Belgium did good in those days with jay-dee's plastik dreams and then later on with the Bonzaï label. I was born in 1987 so I obviously missed out on all of this, but starting out as a dnb enthusiast I found my way back to the roots of electronic music. It's really refreshing to hear this. It gives you much more insight and appreciation in how music evolved during all these years and sounds the way it sounds now. Too bad alot of ppl now look upon this wealth of music as irrelevant and passé...

A lot of the Wonka Beats stuff is like this, heavy drum and tribal beats. II got a few 12" and CDs from them. I'm old.
