simzzzz2504 i'm using 3d coat for buildings, for smaller models like characters and props etc i'm using zbrush, i use several programs depending on the situations and the workflow i feel that is comfortable to do.
well about the textures for each wall there are seamless i just paint on it like if it was a real construction model, the uv's where done automatically using autodesk maya, i have some settings so it maximises the space and normalizes it. and it's all in one texture, i did this on a 4096x4096 now if i wanted a higher quality with lower resolution then probably i could of set up the uv's for tiling and just have textures tiles, in this case i prefer using this workflow since i can really stilize
So what happens to the textures of each wall? How are they finalized and setup for the game in the end? Does each wall have their own unique texture or are they sharing from a few texture? are the tiled? How efficient it is? Etc.
I already have my own way of going about making buildings, but seeing this video, especially with the texturing got me wondering. You dont setup uvs either or you do that first for projecting painting?
it all depends, for smaller objects and mainly characters i'm using zbrush, for bigger things and buildings 3d coat, pretty much 3d coat does the job. i said it on the description lol
