This one is cool, a lot of action. I have always liked these movies where a giant monster roams in the city. But it still isn't godzilla, it's just a big-ass dinosaur. The real Godzilla is in the Japanese movies.

They set it up for a sequel which was possibly going to be a lot closer to what people expected, but nobody gave it the chance. It's a shame, because this IS a cool design. Tristar stinks! They rejected Stan Winston's design of Godzilla which is alot cooler than the one that got in to the film! And they changed the original script of the movie which Godzilla was a thousand years Reptile hibernating and he battles with a monster named Gryphon! @tedoymisojos I agree. To me, this is the only Godzilla; I never watched any of the Japanese films back then, nor do I now. And if Godzilla were an actual creature, he would look far closer to this because it's anatomically correct unlike the Japanese version.
In reality if a creature mutates to something that big you would actually want to have a big thick sturdy frame like the Japanese version instead of the lanky fragile build. Because the bones would snap in 2 if thats the case....
i found one of the biggest mistakes in this movie...When the reporter incharge of animal,lucy and audry...he mentions that this attack is worst then the `world trade centre bombings` but this movie was out 3years before the trade centre was attacked....unless it was attacked before 1998 but to me thats what makes me wonder....was godzilla delayed????

Jap Godzilla wasn't even based off of a t-rex. Godzilla was originaly a Gojirasauras (a fictional dinosaur), which stood upright. So obviosly after it was mutated he would still stand upright. The only Godzilla's that were fat are the 1954, Heisei (1984-1995), and GMK versions. The rest are just really muscular.
Do some research before you start hating something.
Besides, G2K, GMK, and GXMG versions of Godzilla look much better than the U.S. Godzilla by far (design wise).

And your info was also a little off, so I decided to correct you. Godzilla was not based based off of a T-Rex, but the Gojirasaurus was like a upright one with little spikes on his back. Is it impossible for T-rexs' to stand upright? I'm pretty sure its not. If this speices of dinos does stand that way, then he will stay like that. Gojirasaurus was a new original speices, so its not inacurate or anything.

american Godzilla could have been better if it had the famous atomic breath, I like the fact they used a mutated marine iguana to explain zilla's aquatic nature and not chomping on people, not some unknown theropod dinosaur who became a swimmer because he went like peter parker the animated series make up for the film, even better than all those classic kaiju/tokusatsus all together
still like those rubbersauruses slurpasauruses etc though

I Am a fan of kaijus especially gojira, but I like this american version acting wise, well of course except for few who shouldnt have been in the film, and the science is not so ridiculous as the tokusatsu standard not to mention the very bad and cheesy acting of the foreign extras on all of tokusatsus

@superfawful65 He had reason to, he was pregnant and needed shelter for his soon to be offspring. If this wasn't the case, I'm sure he would have put up more of a fight. They set it up for a sequel which was possibly going to be a lot closer to what people expected, but nobody gave it the chance. It's a shame, because this IS a cool design. I love what Godzilla stands for, but that doesn't mean I can't like this one too.

Tristar stinks! They rejected Stan Winston's design of Godzilla which is alot cooler than the one that got in to the film! And they changed the original script of the movie which Godzilla was a thousand years Reptile hibernating and he battles with a monster named Gryphon! That's what you get for making a realistic Godzilla! you get thumbs down!

This Godzilla is so much more beautiful and graceful, and REALISTIC than the silly, bulky original Godzilla. Fans of the bulky, weird looking old beast should give it a rest.

@tedoymisojos I agree. To me, this is the only Godzilla; I never watched any of the Japanese films back then, nor do I now. And if Godzilla were an actual creature, he would look far closer to this because it's anatomically correct unlike the Japanese version.

In reality if a creature mutates to something that big you would actually want to have a big thick sturdy frame like the Japanese version instead of the lanky fragile build. Because the bones would snap in 2 if thats the case....

i found one of the biggest mistakes in this movie...When the reporter incharge of animal,lucy and audry...he mentions that this attack is worst then the `world trade centre bombings` but this movie was out 3years before the trade centre was attacked....unless it was attacked before 1998 but to me thats what makes me wonder....was godzilla delayed????

Difference between Godzilla and Zilla.
1. Godzilla can never get killed by human weapons no matter how expensive it is.
2. Godzilla cannot run but it doesn't back down from no bitch no matter how powerful or outnumbered it is.
3. Godzilla doesn't give a crap about gravity cause It can do a double kick while just moving with its tail as well as using its atomic breathe to fly.
4. Godzilla is a word while Zilla is not.
5. Godzilla in its films is all about the monster fights even if a rubber suit.

They completely disregarded and removed everything that made Godzilla such a popular cultural icon and replaced it with elements that made him such a weaker inferior monster. Watch the original 1954 Godzilla film and then this film and you'll see why people hate it. This is NOT GODZILLA! It's something else.

@MaleBosszz I do admit the CGI looks VERY REALISTIC for a late 90's film. I can forgive this film now since Legendary Pictures is rebooting Godzilla, looking back on this film, it was an ok movie. But a horrible Godzilla film. But for a monster movie, I expected more.

They're all big fan boys so they'll definitely 100% sure get it right this time and give Godzilla the hollywood treatment & respect he finally deserves.

New American Godzilla Reboot coming late 2013 or Summer 2014 from Legendary Pictures. Company behind (300, The Dark Knight, Inception, Batman Begins, The Watchmen)
It will be the real Godzilla this time though, Atomic breath, invincible, an will be fighting other monsters probably from the Toho franchise or new ones.

Jap Godzilla wasn't even based off of a t-rex. Godzilla was originaly a Gojirasauras (a fictional dinosaur), which stood upright. So obviosly after it was mutated he would still stand upright. The only Godzilla's that were fat are the 1954, Heisei (1984-1995), and GMK versions. The rest are just really muscular.
Do some research before you start hating something.
Besides, G2K, GMK, and GXMG versions of Godzilla look much better than the U.S. Godzilla by far (design wise).

And your info was also a little off, so I decided to correct you. Godzilla was not based based off of a T-Rex, but the Gojirasaurus was like a upright one with little spikes on his back. Is it impossible for T-rexs' to stand upright? I'm pretty sure its not. If this speices of dinos does stand that way, then he will stay like that. Gojirasaurus was a new original speices, so its not inacurate or anything.

@SaiyanRider54 you seem to missundertood me. godzilla. was inspired by dinosaurs what i mean by "t.rex" was dinosaurs i did not mean "t.rex" its self only also. the original image of dinosaurs (carnivora) thought to stand upright but it seemed to form horizantaly this missleading thought dinosaurs made the image of godzilla (80's) and any other monster film a century ago and "is clearly hating in my book." to correct you "fatman" (cont)
