  • Is reverb or effects added to this video? Sounds great, I just want to know what to expect while playing.

  • @MightBeBalance Hey, thank you! No effects added, I mostly upload straight without any cutting and mastering. -Fabian-

  • Hello from Australia, Do you have a preference on the plastic or wooden mouth piece is there any change in sound? I want to get one to practice with before i get an ocarina :)

    Thankyou Brodie.

  • @JDMfrog180 Hi Brodie, well I've actually never played a tin whistle with wodden mouthpiece. There are the all wooden ones (quite expensive), but I don't like their sound. Then their are the ones with metal body and plastic mouthpiece, those are cheap and some are nice, like the Clarke Sweetone. The better all plastic whistles like Susato and Dixon are really cool, they don't have a real mouthpiece but a had made of the same material as the body.

  • @JDMfrog180 The really expensive ones made of metal (probably not your choice when you when you want to get an ocarina soon) have an amazing sound. An example for a high end whistle company would be Chieftain. High quality woods like blackwood or rosewood are not my choice as I said. I'd recommend a Clarke Sweetone, Clarke Traditional (wooden block in the head part, body made of rolled metal, needs more air than the Sweetone), Dixon Trad, or tuneable Susato and Dixon models. -Fabian-

  • is this a good tin whistle for beginners?

  • @MegaHarmonica1 Yes it's a great whistle for beginners, not expensive and has a nice sound! You might have to tweak it a little, it's not hard to do. You'll find good instructions via google. -Fabian-

  • This sounds lovely. Is the is regular, or tweaked Sweetone?

  • @THEFINALHAZARD Hi, thank you! Hmm when I made this video it wasn't tweaked. -Fabian-

  • Let me know when you do Ashoken :) (just let me know on here cause I have this on my favorites list :) Oh I wanted to ask you where you're from if you don't mind

  • @SouthernBell4Christ I will :) I'm from Austria, in Central Europe!

  • This is one of my favorite songs besides ashoken farewell! That was really good for just learning it in 30 minutes. Do you play by ear? I play my fiddle by ear and I can play Ashoken but I want to learn this song on both my fiddle and penny whistle. :)

  • @SouthernBell4Christ Thank you! Yes I mostly play by ear, sometimes I take sheet music to correct certain parts I can't figure out by ear. Learning by watching other players works fine for me too. Si Bheag Si Mhor is very easy, I'm sure you'll have no problems learning it on fiddle and tin whistle. Ashokan Farewell is also very beautiful, I think I'll give it a try soon :) Keep it up! -Fabian-

  • This is quite good! I find the Sweetones' pitching rather sensitive, but you got it right! :)

  • @favianee Thanks for the kind words! Your doing a great job yourself! :)

  • well played...

    keep enjoying the music...

  • @JaydonTWhistler

    Thank you very much Jaydon!

I really like your channel... :)

  • @FabiantheWhistler Thank you ^_^

  • Never watch u play the low D..plz upload one tune of u playing your Dixon Low D..;-)

  • @MrHandyronny Unfortunately, I haven't taken it with me ... but I probably will in a month, when I come back home again. Then I can record a tune :-) It's a pity that I can't record in the flat I'm living in while studying...

  • Good job Fabian..

Clarke sweetone is actually also good to play slow tune..though i usually play it only for fast tune ;-)

  • @MrHandyronny Thanks Hendy! Yeah it's quite nice for slow tunes too, although I usually ulike to use a Generation Bb or Dixon low D... The Sweetone D seems to high for songs and airs sometimes...
