@Cqub3 Same here. It looks like there's some way to change between smoke and explosive rounds. Something to test out next time I find one lying around.

Actually, all you have to do is press the reload button to switch between smoke and explosive rounds.

@SquareKiteGaming you use them to see where u are aiming cuz its rather hard to see what u are aiming at with the mortar so the smoke says u are aiming here but u want to shoot there so u can adjust your aim using them then once one target switvh to explosives

The cloud is a smoke round. You use it to tell where your rounds are landing.

Nice shot. The mortar IS hard to master. The enemy sappers use it to deadly effect though. If you see their smoke, you can bet one of their red rounds is already well on the way, fast and accurate. I hope in future Far Cry's that the realism keeps ramping up, more area (frag) effect for explosives, more excelent weapons with accurate damage physics. This is one of my favorite PS3 games.

I think it's just because Marty looks the most badass, and 90% of players are male. Few days ago i read in one games magazine, that male players usualy choose the most badass and tough characters, for example Left 4 Dead - most players play as Francis.

The reason for the smoke one is to test the position... Like say you wanna see how far 6 notches are...

No, the smoke signals for enemies to come to the position you just fired the mortar. Usually it's a good idea to smoke the area then wait a minute and then mortar the shit out of them.

its so you fire a smoke shell to see where it will hit, and once you know the right range you use your high explosive shells. switch with the X button on xbox or R on the computer
