you know what's ironic? this film was made/released in 1993. What those three actors didn't know was-- in exactly ten years from that point, Pacino would win the Emmy & Golden Globe for HBO's "Angels in America", Sean Penn to win the Oscar for "Mystic River", & Viggo Mortensen making bank & cast awards for the third Lords of the Rings. How time can change, eh? *-*
You think someone could put the full movie on hear or if really good scenes like with Kliedfield starting a fight with a bunch of Itallians or the scene where Carlito gets in it with Benny Blanco???
this movie is directed ny Brian De Palma, Writen by Oliver Stone & Martin Bregman but I still think it's much better than scarface and the ending made me cry
Very underrated masterpiece. Maybe I'm crazy but I loved it better than The Godfather and Scarface. Al Pacino was superbrilliant. Sean Penn, Penelope Ann Miller and Luis Guzman did a great job too.
Yes, I do agree with you. I love that movie. It was selected as the best movies from the 90's by a French cinema magazine. Pacino is great, and the others actors are also brilliant (special mention to SEAN PENN.) Actually I didn't recognize him until the credits rolled up at the end of the film, when I saw it for the first time back in 1994 !
Man, that really is one of the best trailers from that era. Emotional and powerful, it sells th hell out of the movie. I don't think DePalma has done anything as good since.
This movie gets me every time I see it. "Sorry baby, I tried the best I could, honest... Can't come with me on this trip, Loaf. Getting the shakes now, last call for drinks, bars closing down... Sun's out, where are we going for breakfast? Don't wanna go far. Rough night, tired baby... Tired..."
In a way I see mob life as a candle on a birthday cake, your always the next to be blown out no matter what, it's a dangerous game.
But thats just my perspective, I just don't see the point in gangster life, they basically live life on the edge and when they get to close they're pushed off or they fall.
vice city is a tribute to gangster movies in general. vercetti estate is very similar to montanas house in scarface and there are other tributes I cant think of right now
This is my favorite movie of all time. I love Al Pacino, he is the best there ever was and ever will be! I wish more people knew about it, it's the greatest. MOST UNDERRATED MOVIE EVER! It made me sooo sad. It still does every time I watch it.
