I was @ this show at the Rock Hall in Cleveland in 2003.....I can still see myself in audience.....show was private, surreal and will never leave my memory. I was backstage after and walked past John to greet Paul with a hug and kiss...he was so gracious, kind and real....as i always "knew."
People that dismiss John Mayer as "just another pop idol" really miss a lot with this guy. Here he is on stage with a couple of legends, and he is grooving right with them. Think about how many other contemporary pop stars, or pop stars at all for that matter, that you see on stage with Paul Simon. The list is short.
Yeah it was 04. The first time I heard Daughters was on this show. This whole show was awesome. I think at the end of Daughters, it was at least one of his songs, John did an interpolation of Train in the Distance.

Randy Jackson played bass for many rock bands on tour in the 80's. Michael Bolton, Journey, George Michael.

He did a lot of arranging and production stuff, like for Mariah Carey, for instance.

I feel sure it would have been an "interpretation", if anything along those lines.

No, it can't be....is that Randy Jackson playing guitar with John and Paul? If it is, I sure didn't know he can play guitar.

This was recorded on May 14, 2004 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of a scheduled series, "In Tune," sponsored by Bailey's. I was there. :)
