@ExplicitContent81 Maynard actually decided not to take any credit for this song/version himself..., read the facts before making any comments about any uploader or any credits being lame.
@SIRA4LIFE Yes, he played Jareth, the Goblin king. He wrote and recorded four songs for the movie as well. The movie came out in 1986 and he played opposite Jennifer Connelly. The movie is amazing; I highly suggest watching it. (:
I adore the original version of this song, but this is a surprisingly good remix. The string section is quite beautiful, and I like the more 'heavy' section at 2:39.
The feel is entirely different from the original, but this is a very interesting take on the song, and in my opinion it works well.
It's interesting, and it has a certain kick and oomph to it, but I prefer the more understated melancholy of the original. The original makes me think of tired streets, while this one, especially the violins, just makes me think of movie or HBO trailers. Maybe it's because I know it's featured in a SDTK. Ah well. I'm glad I got to hear it anyway. :)
I'd venture to say that both versions have their unique and powerful beauty, seeing as I seem to only have(the other)I'm finding this one so very mesmerising at the moment.Much thanks for the breathtaking post, with lovely pics no less.
Very true, I'm hearing it for the first time right now and that is exactly what I thought. I think Bowie should collaborate with Danny Lohner on his next album!
i can't describe my feelings when i listen to it. i just can't.

Original version way better! Much more interesting chords on the original track!
But this version is good as well=)

The original doesn't have Maynard, Milla Jovovich, Josh Freese or John Frusciante. This version is superior.

This verson of the song is much better. It has that slow, kind of depressive mood that the lyrics express

very smooth remix, and easier to listen to. still prefer the more "difficult" old school jazz of orig tho.
