The car is so good for so many aspects i mean stability on the road brakes engine power and response etc. But all the focused dislike of this car is because it has an non reliable engine and i am sure that you and all RX8 owners suffer from engine problems because of the type of the Wankel. Anyway i am an mechanic engineer too and i still believe that RX8 must wear HONDA S2000 engine to be a perfect machine. ;-)

It's an internet community about the car, it's naturally going to be biased towards posts about problems with it because people want help with those problems. You obviously know nothing about the Renesis or rotary engines in general. And if you're a mechanical engineer, God help us all. You probably don't know the first things about a piston engine, let alone a rotary.
I own one, and I freakin love it. Funnest car to drive and looks gorgeous. On the other hand, you have a point. the 04 05 engine were experiencing seals that were wearing out quick, therefore causing engine failure before 100000 miles. But mazda stepped up and put them under warranty. I have a brand new engine replaced at 98000 miles. As with any high end item, they require you to keep an eye on all of the bells and whistles.
@darkgod1117 It was never built for straight line. Rotaries are not built to accelerate, they are built to maintain teh speed in turns. Two different racing philosophies. 1. you have a big high torque engine and you acclerate hard, but this engine will cause higher centripetal forces, due to which you have to break harder and cant carry speed in corners. 2. On the other side you have light low torque engine which maintains the speed in corners.
@AlmightyGTR actually i understand advanced physics if u wanna be technical. just to blow ur whole theory outta the water.....an rx8 cant beat my hr z on a track or anywhere else for that matter. its has no power but yes is very light weight...the only problem is the z will lead the 8 into the corner....the 8 will close distance in the corner, but then lose it again coming out of the corner. beautiful car tho, i am a mazda fan, just not an rx8 fan because its a huge letdown. ever drive them??

Its the special edition with injected suspension and extra rigid chassis and full leather and suede interior, etc etc. Still turns heads.
Honestly, I do agree with the fuel costs but that's the nature of rotary engines.. And having said that, it is also why rotary powered cars suffered lack of torque at low revs.. That can be fustrating sometimes..but I do admit its flaws but at the same time, appreciate ithe good things abt this car too.. Sound of rotaries at high revs, well-balanced car, great handling, nimble and responsive... So far, I have fun driving on bends, winding roads and mountain roads. :)

1- the fuel costs, it uses fuel like a top end performance car and certainly dosnt have the performance to justify using that much fuel!
2- the torque is shite, come to a hill and start dropping the gears 5th 4th 3rd 2nd ah there we go i can get up the hill!
No offence here.. RX8 is a unique car and does have its strengths & weakness. It is not a car for everyone I have to say. Poor low end torque and high fuel costs don't make it the worst car ever. Peace.
Umm idk what the difference is to other vehicles but my bumper was 300 and one of my taillights was 150. Plus the cost to install it n paint it etc but that's separate. Great car though.love my 8 and best of luck to you with yours

if you don't trade your mustang for one of these i will find you... haha jk but i hate the mustang the rx8 is so unique and with a exhaust system (like mine) it crackles pops and has diff tones you can also hear mine from 4 miles away... im not shitting you i got it on video and the mustang is so bland and has 1 tone that just gets louder... boooorrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnngggggggg

I used to own a 07 6mt RX8, I missed having some torque so i visited a ford dealership and test drove a mustang gt.... after about 10 minutes I handed the keys back to the salesman and said thanks and i will be keeping the mazda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
did they really just move the steering wheel over on the non US versions, without rearranging the transmittion set up. What i mean is that 1 looked like the E brake handle is blocking the shifter.
Buying one of these is so impractical. Piss poor gas mileage, not at all fast, high maintenance, etc. etc. Only thing this has going for it is handling.
@lamborghiniexotics It's a track car not a straight line car lol. That little 1.3 eats 300+ hp (including the 300z) on tracks. Not to mention having 4 actually usable seats. Not that fast at low revs, no, but if you know how to work the manual properly it's fast enough, and 155 MPH isn't even close to slow, not compared to anything in it's price range anyways.
@vteca 2 totally different cars, u cant compare the 2, the rx8 is more a sporty coupe and the type r is more of a, tune and street race car, it all depends on ur taste, get what u want, not what the other guy wants
