  • @Typhlosion100 crower is shit. my brothers eg has a swaped F22b fully built doiing 575whp on 23 psi and he fractured a crower stage 3 cam. he put a skunk2 pro3 and it lopes so much more and just worth the money

  • Hey, I have a prelude as well, I was looking into getting the skunk2 pro2 cam and I know i need to change the valve spring and retainers but should I change out my rods too??? I don't plan on revving up past 8500, i just don't know how well the stock rods will hold up

  • @tayler0528 i would personally leave the stock rods till u hear the knock lol. thats even if the will. its jus a cam ur upgrading

  • You can tell people who think that is valve lash have never upgraded their valve springs lol. I skunk 2 dual valve springs all the way around, and they slap like a mother fu**er lol.

  • Needs to breathe more at top end then, you should have ITBS or something like Dual throttle body setup so you can use the cams closer to 12,000 that be nice.

  • @caarankin69 Im running Tuner 2's in my B16 right now.

    Just popped them in after i did a complete block/head rebuild

  • I here that same knocking on my build!! I'm using skunk2 springs and retainers, when you do the good valve springs you should invest in some good (LIFTERS) or "lost motion sensors" as well! They help the knocking alot!!!

    agreed, they are wrth the money. getting the power from the motor to the ground can be lost in transition from the rotating engine to the wheels.

  • @JDMb18hatch . Its a torque dampener, stops the motor twisting as much in the engine bay

  • That is acually how a tuned big cam honda should idle and sound, my friend had pro2 and it was idling like stock but at 1000rpm.

    Also, the knocking sound is just normal, it is what happend when running a strong aftermarket valvetrain.

    Big cam don't mean shitty big v8 style idle, poor tuning mean shitty idle.

  • Sounds like piston slap. I got similar problem. The pistons sleeves have been honed to 0.004'' which is too much. In mine, it's worse when the engine is cold and almost go away once hot.

  • dude that not a h22 it aa b series you can tell by the valve cover cuzz the h22 cover have the big vtec sign on the bottom of the sparkplug wire

  • Nope, the 10,000rpm cut after I re-chipped the ECU. I have never intentionally revved up to the 10K limit, but accidentally yes. I am comfortable at 9500rpm during spirited driving and 8500rpm during normal "unchallenged" driving..
