To be the voice of Asia, you must be very well known in Asia, generally you're representing Asia. Simply because one is very well known Asian singer in US, doesnt make one the voice of Asia. IMHO, Siti is one of the voices of Asia, along with Rain, Jay Chou, Jacky Cheung and many more (popularity across Asia), but its hard to say the same with Regine, Charice and many Filipino singers, Yes they are famous in US, so does William Hung. To represent Asia, one must be doing really Good in Asia.

@oneviwatara I cant remember any Filipino singer very well other than Regine, that was because she had a duet with Jacky Cheung, years ago. I know Rain, Jay Chou, Stefanie Sun, Utada Hikaru many more, but Charice.not much. My problem is, I barely know who Charice is (singing wise but I did read about her Glee). In our part of the world, Charice is not a huge name. Its hard to proclaim one as Voice of Asia without truly knowing the singer, i hope Charice gets better exposure in the future

To be the voice of Asia, you must be very well known in Asia, generally you're representing Asia. Simply because one is very well known Asian singer in US, doesnt make one the voice of Asia. IMHO, Siti is one of the voices of Asia, along with Rain, Jay Chou, Jacky Cheung and many more (popularity across Asia), but its hard to say the same with Regine, Charice and many Filipino singers, Yes they are famous in US, so does William Hung. To represent Asia, one must be doing really Good in Asia.

@oneviwatara I cant remember any Filipino singer very well other than Regine, that was because she had a duet with Jacky Cheung, years ago. I know Rain, Jay Chou, Stefanie Sun, Utada Hikaru many more, but Charice.not much. My problem is, I barely know who Charice is (singing wise but I did read about her Glee). In our part of the world, Charice is not a huge name. Its hard to proclaim one as Voice of Asia without truly knowing the singer, i hope Charice gets better exposure in the future

And most Charice fans are using using US as their reference. To be the Voice of Asia, one must be very well accepted in Asia. Now she is back shooting some more scens for Glee show & she will be part of the Christmas show on Nov. with stars like Maria,Sherly Crow,Susan Boyle,Jessica Simpson & other stars. @azharkent gosh!! ask coco lee,, as one of here competitor, she even call regine as diva of all diva.. she has a multi platinum album across asia even in key markets like japan south korea and china and because of that she was dub as asias song bird. some of her song are even translated to korean and korean news has documentry about regine and even now, her songs are being played in japan. she got the title not because some unknown channel V say so but her achievement. that is so cheap.
