On the day after this fire, I wanted to drive to the London Transport Lost Property Office to recover my wife's lost umbrella. I was told it was in Waterden Road, which I didn't know and had to look up on a map. When I found and arrived at this Waterden Road, it was alive with men in orange coats refusing entry to traffic and diverting us. The big fire had been in that very road! So I had to turn round and drive home. How's that for a coincidence?

I saw this fire from the London Wetland Centre; that's at Barnes in W. London! It must be 10 miles away from there.
