  • Even I wanted to throttle that pink lady :P

  • That description makes no sense.

  • I though he said "is your son sown in rug", which made the rest of the dialog rather odd.

  • democracy is terrific rather than terrifying

  • @paulthecoolest Not when the majority of the population decide to do do something incredibly stupid. Like voting in nazis into government. It's just the best form of government available, but that's all, really.

  • @Namaechan Now why wud they want to do that ...that wud completely make it not democratic ..

And besides even if the decisions are of the majority ...the minority still could do things about it ...democracy is based on egalitarianism ..They could make riots and debates and challenge these ppl ..god forbid they cud even make a new country ..sure developments could be made ..But any better governance wud for sure be a derivative of democracy

  • " well thankyou for being so time consuming" I LOVE IT!!!

  • - he's not dead?

    - no...

    - you're simply waisting our time... goodbye!

  • When is this on?

I would hope that this would be available on iPlayer but I can't find it so far.

  • This show came on after I moved back to America after 13 years in the UK -- I was a board level director of a major agency in the City of London and I've got to tell you, this show strikes a chord! LOL been there!

  • Really? Hmm... the formula for many American comedy shows:

    1) Feed line

    2) Well thought out joke that the average person would not be able to come up with in so short a time

    3) canned laughter

    4) repeat

    5) brain tries to melt in self defence

Don't get me wrong, I like a fair few American comedies. South Park, Scrubs, The Simpsons, Family Guy... the ones that don't follow the format given above; shows that tend towards the dark, the wacky, the intelligent. Like British comedy, really.

  • @monkeymox You forgot to mention Curb Your Enthusiasm. Are you nuts? And the American comedies you mention were mostly cartoons. Nighty Night FTW.

  • @monkeymox

How can you imply that The Family Guy isn't formulaic? They do so many callbacks to obscure jokes and random cutaways to flashbacks with no relevance to the storyline that the show is nearly incomprehensible. I wouldn't compare it to british comedy, ever.

  • @Bean77 I'll admit it's formulaic, but it has an air of unpredictability about it - as a Python might say, it's very silly. In fact, I think family guy is a show where Monty Python has been very influential - that's a guess, but I'll bet it's a good one.

  • wow...interesting to see stephen fry playing the role of a total dick...are there full episodes of this please on youtube?

  • ..stephen fry playing the role of a total dick..

    Yup bigus dickus

  • Balbriggan lighthouse without the dome is like having a house that isn't a home, like the old town clock with only one hand or our beach without any sand, To us that have reached that certain age when they stole the dome it sent us in rage, what were the old farthers about? They let the dome go without even a shout! Lets start an appeal to have it restored, if we all stand together we carn't ignored. Starting today rebuild the dome without any delay

  • "Isn't democracy terrifying"- true

  • Straight in with the mixed metaphors, splendid! :-)
