  • THANKS FOR THIS YESTERDAY' S AWESOME SLOW DRAG, WE SURE HAD THE TMES OF OUR LIVES. BACKED UP AGAINST A DARK WALL GRINDING LIKE CRAZY.

  • I'd been looking for this song for quite some time. Just wanted to say thanks for posting. You made my year.

  • Thank you so much. I wore out both sides of this back in the day.

  • No body does slow jams like the Impressions. For me personally, I dont like when they speed things up. Even when Curtis was singing back up for Jerry Butler, it just made the song more romantic for some reason.

  • I remember this from around 1965!

I was in the Air Force, Richards Gebaur KCMO.

Some guy in the adjoining barracks would play THE IMPRESSION out of his room window, for the whole Flight Squadron. And it was just "Heavenly".

  • classic! i been trying to find this for years-thank you for posting

  • You're Welcome

  • this is fucking beautiful man

  • Fantastic! Thanks for posting this one! I only knew the Major Lance version up to this point! And though I still like Major Lances version better (probably cause its the first one I heard) Its cool to hear the actual songwriter do it....

  • What year was this? Sounds like early pre- "Its All Right Impressions."

  • This is the flip side to "It's Alright". I think either 62 or 63

  • Apart from the original 7" It's also on an Impressions comp. called Big Sixteen 2.

  • Thans Mike. I'll pass that information on to those who inquire.

  • this was one my favoite songs from the impressions the last time i heard it was 1965 i thought i would never hear it again.thanks for bringing back this classic

  • You're so welcome!

  • the time was not reasy for this song but today man o man it would be great the teens around my house love it wish it could be on radio now

  • I hear ya. Thanks for the comment.

  • This is a find!

This tune is legendary in Jamaica because of a hit cover version by Pat Kelly and the Techniques done around 1966. That was called You Don't Care.

It's strange that the original doesn't appear on reissues more, but that's what can happen when you have a songbook like Curtis Mayfield's - which classics do you leave off?

    Anyway - great, great post.

  • You are right about the reissues. Thanks for your comment.

  • I'd been lookinig for this song for years. Thank you so much for posting

  • I am glad you found it. I posted this because It's so hard to find on CD. So, enjoy.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Thank you for this one, it's a beautiful song and brings back some good memories. Back then you were lucky to find two great songs on one 45. "SmoothsSexyChicagoSoul" at its best. Thank God for giving us Curtis Mayfield to enjoy, that beautiful voice and writing genius.

  • You're welcome. Curtis Mayfield was the man. I love the early stuff

  • I have been looking for this song since the 60's

    Thanks for posting it.

  • You're welcome. For some reason, it is not on CD. I have looked high and low for it, but I know I had the 45 (flip side of It's Alright". This is one of my favorite songs by them. I'm glat that you have found it. Be Blessed......

  • There's a version of this song on the CD "Curtis Mayfield's Chicago Soul" on the Sony label released in 1995, with Major Lance doing the lead vocal.

  • brings back memories/ simpliar time and place

  • Yes. I was wondering when someone was going to reply to this song. So many people say that they don't know this one. But oh ,how I remember this song. Thanks for your comment.
