  • Nice atmospheric and minimalistic video, but the song's awful! Dull, uninspiring and easily forgettable with clichéd lyrics. It's cool though that in recent years Gary's really found his feet and has started making great music again :-)

  • Well I love this. so there.

  • any love song he write leaves me emotional and brings tears to my Heart. This song especially the end "does she break your heart, like she broke mine?' i feel for him.

  • The video is so Numan...great job and thanks

  • AWFULL!!! Thumbs down.........

  • AWFULL!!!

  • rsw remix of afe. that would be renegade sound waves mix of are friends electric. but you probably know that already.

  • all numan stuff has its place love it or hate it ,each to their own.

  • all numan stuff has its place love it or hate it ,each to there own.

  • This is such a beautiful song by Gary, up there with other ballads like Miracles, This Is Love and I Still Remember. I personally think Outland is a great Numan album and it is much underrated and overlooked.

  • In fairness, and on reflection, give this another spin and you may just find a nice song, not a Numan song by any means but it's still a great ballad and I love this song. However it epitomises all that was wrong with Numan late 80s/early 90s and that was he should do what he is good at and not try to fit in with the trends at the time.

That said the Numan stuff 82/83 - 94 seems to be ignored and yet I would love to see some reworkings of this eras best tracks as there were some belters

  • Kinc`s favourite.

  • I think this song is tripe when compared to his older work--yes, I'm one of those--but nonetheless, I feel more enriched for having listened to it, even if it's not in my genre. Thank you for uploading this.

  • It's a masterpiece! Both the song, the combination of Gary and Christine singing together and the shooting of the video. I didn't know this song og Gary yet, but I love it and love the video. Are you professionally working in flming business?

  • Christine Peak - gorgeous. Yes trhe vieo has a budget look but we forget that digital studios a more polished result cheap and easy compared to then. Yes it also far from Numan's usual style - but it is not his loss that some fans of the other work had less diverse taste. Many find the song sounds personal and absoluetly sincere... and echoed stuff in their own lives - and still does. Time heals nothing - as indeed he also once sang ...

  • Christine Peak was stunning in this. Yes the production has a bit of a budget feel - but everyone has a budget - and we forget how much things cost to make then compared to our digital slolutions today. Yes it is quite alien to Numan's usual stuff ans ome have less diverse musical taste than others to appreciate it. Personally I think it not only sounds sincere - but strikes a chord with many fans who felt the same way about similar loss.

  • Bloody rubbish.I was a Numan fan for years but when he started writing dross like this I knew the game was up.Numan fans seem to live in denile of his recent stuff.Try to compare this to Down in the park?

  • @KGMDMusic yes mate they do and they get all aggressive if you disagree with the idiots. Numan lost it back then and he's lost it now with his fake goth crap.

  • "Very rare original version" what twaddle you talk! This is the same version IRS released as a CD single back in 1991. It's a pile of crap!! I remember the bloke at Farringdon Records (London), playing me a snippet, I couldn't contain my embarrassment. He quickly flipped it and spun the RSW remix of AFE much to my relief.

  • I am referring to the video, not the track - this version is my original cut and has never been on tv, dvd or wax disc... as far as I know I have the only copy of this version of the video... I think that qualifies for the description "rare"... I don't know why you feel you have to be so offensive but I guess it takes all sorts...

  • I'm not being offensive I only used the word twaddle. It's a big ugly world out there I'm sure you can handle my comments in the grand scheme of things! BTW I think Heart is far more offensive than anything I've ever posted!

  • @R4949 - He does it coz he's a troll - he tried it with me but I nailed the mutha as always.

  • were cd singles double sided in 91?

  • lord arsehat youve stopped peolple commenting on your page.such a shame.i was going to leave a nice message for you.

  • @themachman19691 Only block certain arseholes, you are one of them.

  • haha...you should know n=being the biggest one on here.eat shit and die

  • Is that the best you can do? lol well judging from your posts you've eaten plenty of shit, I'm surprised you're still alive.

  • oh your so funny.reckon you love numan sooo much......reckon youve had some psychological thing bout him thats why you keep posting bad comments bout him.you are without doubt the biggest weirdo on youtube.btw i blocked you ages ago...so run along to your local secure unit and book yourself in for some numan diversion therapy

  • @themachman19691 Touched a nerve did I? lol don't make me laugh, the weirdo in this thread is you, your comments are similar to those of a child. I've also posted plenty of positive comments about Numan. Off you go and wank over your Emotion tour programme, fucking idiot, LOL!!!

  • your boring me now

  • @themachman19691 Piss off then and stop boring the shit out of everyone else. Most people think I'm a comedy genius and out for the crack you're just a dopey die-hard Numanoid who can't handle having your bone idle, idol criticised. Last time I'm responding to you in this thread, if I hear the strains of FEART again I'll puke.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • @themachman19691 Exactly! which is why I can't listen to it from start to finish.

  • @LordArsehat What is the RSW remix of AFE ?- not come across it - any info?

  • an under rated classic numan song!still sounds great..

  • Lol! your comments always make me laugh, cos they're so fucking daft! and I think even you know you're talking crap when you champion garbage such as this.

  • why thank you,mr arsehat.glad i entertain you...

  • Yup! but only slightly more than that twat Gary Numan. 1979-1984, with the exception of Warriors, total class. everything since is pure dog shit but I have to stress the shittiest and smelliest period of his career is right now - Jagged Jagged Edge, The Fall, Pure SHIT!!!

  • A FAVE!

    NUMA.66.

  • Never knew this existed! I got the 45rpm red vinyl of this from an ex last year. Not mad on the song but its ok. Always been a Numan fan since 1979's Tubeway days. Nice to see oddities still popping up on youtube.

  • A truly beautiful song

    j

  • I've never seen this before... it's a rarity indeed! What year was it made?

  • Good song, if the album is shit do a ballad!

This album led to Machine & Soul and then he saw what was wrong and made stuff that rocked

    Sacrifice (94) +

  • Great song, great video. Thanks for posting it.

  • wow..Britney copied her moves!!! great song!

  • Nice since "Miracles" in 1985 has Numan made a soft song this beautiful. A sensual, contemplative song in an album filled mainly with adrenaline and chaos. Perfect.

  • Such a sad sounding song but soooo beautiful and pure! Shake what your mom gave ya Gary!!!

  • One of his best ballads

And a highlight of the atrocity that was Outland

  • @diesonneuk Outland had 2 far better ballads than this (Whisper & Dream Killer)

  • @PatrickIngham21 Totally agree with you. Those two tracks are also probably the best on Outland (though, given the rest of the album, I realize that doesn't say too much), When I first put Heart on my turntable my heart litteraly sank. It was just so sappy. Why or why release it as a single?

  • He always has some great looking women in his videos.

  • one of my favourite numan song

  • a rare video indeed, thanks.

  • What a great rarity ..thank you for showing this ...fantastic job

  • Brilliant!

    Coxynuma.66.

  • Great video but sort of a strange hairstyle on Gary.

  • Never knew this video existed. Makes me wonder what else is out there that I don't know about.

  • There are a lot out there and if you want any on dvd contact me.

  • Thanx for sharing !!!

  • very nice, the girls vocals are lovely

  • One of his more interesting attempts at the commercial market.

  • Wow. As an avid Numanoid, I thought I had collected absolutely everything Numan-related. I've always considered this one of Gary's best videos. Thanks for posting such a rarity!
