  • Beautiful. Thanks for posting. Never forget Joe Hill, and God bless the IWW (and all their union brothers and sisters.)

  • THANK YOU for posting this!

  • one of the great songs....

  • Heja svärige! Kaikki duunarit yhdessä.

  • A splendid tribute.

  • In unity there is strength.

  • Cycleryder has facts ...Hmmmm.... Nepotism....right! The American dream doesn't wash... The Unions have a function and without them there is no mo

re negotiation in the labour market .. It becomes exclusively and inescapably exploitative.

  • Joseph Hagglund is a true martyr of American and world socialism.

  • WOW such strong opinions, I however base mine on facts not opinions. Jobs offer the benefits to prevent a union from forming in the first place. No major corporations would not have just "done it anyway" why would they? They had cheap labor and no benefits to payout it seems that there are people here that need to do some homework. The massacre of 1913, the copper mines for starters...then you can move on from there. I'm not going to be baited into (laziness argument which you get in nepotism)

  • Unions are such garbage. Find another job or start your own business if you don't like your circumstances. If you don't believe other work exists, then you admit your skills have no value or your demands are too high. Nevertheless, the murder of Joe Hill was an exhibit to the moral depravity of the justice system.

  • @superhoga Hmm you like a 40hr work weeks?....Paid vacations?....Any paid benefit whatsoever? Those exist because of unions think different???? Do your homework and read. Child labor laws...because of unions, work safety...unions. If you think that employers as a whole are concerned about anything other than the bottom line you are sadly mistaken. Are they fool proof or perfect??? nope but you owe all those things to unions.

  • @cycleryder Unions are absolutely necessary to maintain a level of independence from ones salary, but unions also promote laziness, a sense of self-entitlement (beyond what one deserves), carelessness...many unfortunate vices, really. I agree we should have them, but they ought to be operated on the basis of ethics, modesty and industriousness. If you don't work as hard as you can, you don't deserve the benefits a union class can bring.

  • @cycleryder Why do you assume those things wouldn't happen anyway? How many of those things actually contribute to a company's bottom line? Anything that detracts is an impediment to full employment. Your assertions fail to account for why businesses in non-union areas and non-union industries have the same if not better benefits. Space fails to properly rebut, however it was ww2 era price/wage controls that led to many of the employer provided benefits but I don't see many that want those back.

  • Can you feel him yet, Wisconsin?

  • @marthakaplanpoetry I come across this 10 months later, on the eve of the anniversary of joe's execution, and can only say: Best comment ever!

  • Utah justice

  • Thank you, this is an amazing song.

  • 95 years ago today...

  • Outstanding song. We can assume that Joe Hill was framed since the trial transcripts were swiftly destroyed. Those who framed him signed their own demise, for they had to answer to a Supreme Authority at the end of their days.

  • thanks for the upload

  • I'm a proud member of the IWW: X362847! Fellow worker Hill NEVER died!
