At least the seed was planted...Billy Gram wasn't saved the very first time he heard the gospel..it takes time to grow in someones heart.
Dieing without having Jesus is like skydiving without a parashute...you're fine for awhile but when the "ground" (judgement) comes up..you're finished.
I was expecting this was going to be a parody making fun of how terrible and judgmental Way of the Master is. I was wrong. The guy in this this video clearly wasn't converted or brought closer to thinking about conversion, so what is the point the video is trying to make?
1. The guy came under conviction of sin through the Law. He admitted that perhaps he might go to Hell. I wonder if that thought had ever struck him before.
2. He was offered a gospel of Jesus Christ as a remedy for his plight.
3. He was given a resource (the tract) which tells where he can find further information: a website.
4. The point was to show that WOTM is not a US thing: it can be done in all cultures, because it appeals to the God given conscience.
At the risk of upsetting everyone,(gulp!) i must say that i am getting slightly wary of "the way of the Master". I have used this technique myself in the past, but here is the problem;
1. You are relying on a formula and not on the Holy Spirit.
2. I am not aware that Peter, Paul, John or any other Apostles are recorded using this technique.
3. Because "the way..." is all over YOUTUBE, it won't be long before all non believers are hip to it. What do you think?
The reason it's called "the way of the master" is because this is the technique Jesus Christ used. Show a man the wickedness in his heart with the laws and then give him the gospel. First take him to Mt. Sinai and then to Mt. Zion.
It is a structured conversation, but so are most evangelistic training materials (eg. Evangelism Explosion).
2. It would be worth getting 'What did Jesus do?' by Ray Comfort. He goes through: what did Peter do, Paul do, etc. Although he may overstate the case sometimes, what I was struck by was how much the 10 commandments do lie underneath NT GOspel proclamation.
Great job! This is just another proof that the Word of God is for all people-everywhere. I thought it was well done and I do not think that you were too American-you wore a suit. :)
That was a good example of how to witness. One thing I'm wondering about is about the comment of if we repent and believe we will go to heaven, I am wondering if it is possible we will not go to heaven but we will be waiting for Jesus to come back to judge us and set up his kingdom on Earth. The Bible in The Lord's Prayer says "your kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven." Just a thought.
That was awesome. Christians, This is what we are supposed to be doing. I used this method of evangelism to share my faith the other day and it was so easy, not brainy, and it speaks to the persons conscience. The Tow Truck driver I spoke to had never heard the gospel directly before. What is wrong with that picture? Great Job JJ100172
Those commandments are indeed nailed to the cross if we repent from our sins and put our trust in Christ, but ONLY if we do that. (I John 2v2 does not teach universalism).
I do not disagree with you that we are only accepted because of Christ. I am simply using the 10 commandments to bring knowledge of and conviction of sin and then offer thew Saviour. But do email me at hotmail
Read Colossians 2:13-14. Verse 13 says that we have been forgiven all our sins (past, present, future) and verse 14 says that the 10 Commandments have been nailed to Calvary's cross. Moreover, 1 John 2:2 says that Christ not only paid for the sins of believers, but for the whole world also. Therefore, God will judge no one based upon their violation of the 10 Commandments; but rather upon their acceptance or rejection of Christ; not to get forgiven, but rather to become born again.
Rom 3:25 says we are forgiven for the sins that are past. Col 2 may be the ceremonial laws done away with, cause Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments. The 10 commandments still count cause 1 Cor 6:9-19 says no adulterer goes to heaven (7th commandment) and no thief will go to heaven (8th commandment) Rev 21:8 says all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth w/ fire and brimstone (9th commandment)
Actually this particular passage (col2:13-14) is not speaking of the 10 commandments, it is speaking of the handwritten ordinace of the law (what moses wrote, the mosiac law)that was the "handwritten" law. God wrote the 10 commandments with His very finger, so the handwritten law was nailed to the cross.
I hope and pray that the young man does get a bible and reads it and lets God into his life. I pray that I will get the chance to witness in such a way as this - thank you for the inspiration. Mg
Way of the Master = fundamentalism for the simpleminded.

He did admit he had broken God's laws.
And he did say he was ' going to hell, maybe' or some such words.
He was given a tract with a website which has more info re the Gospel.
And he did say he would read a Bible.
(Sadly I didn't have one to give him).
What more do you expect in 5 mins?

its good. but that man doesn't know if Jesus died for him or not. hes assuming that he did...and thats dangerous.

No: I told him to turn from his sin and to put on Christ to be saved.

sorry mate, but that's not biblical
in apocalypse, there is said that no alduterer, no lier, no thief, and so on will enter the Kingdom...
what's that if not based on judgement through the ten commandments?
tomwer 4 years ago
in the same way, rom 7, ephesians 3 speak about the law as to bring the knowledge of sin
and plz, read 1 John;...you'll love that one : God has made us, through Christ and the new birth, able to....Fullfill the law
on thing important to understand, is that, as God is Rightousness, He Is the LAW...
blessings
