you can buy Ferrocerium off eBay for about $5 a rod, its legal everywhere and is used mostly in flint and steels for survival kits and firestarters.
Iron oxide, Magnesium blocks, Aluminium oxide powders and all kinds of this stuff for making ferrite, thermite, flash powder etc can be bought in small quantities off eBay also... love eBay.

try 4 kclo3 3 mg 3 fe (you can get KCLO3 from matches, purify it.. otherwise it will only be... 40-50% kclo3)
