  • totally poetic moment. cain's final act of cylon vengeance fulfilled by her ship

  • Manly tears were shed.

  • love that sound, explosions, and dogfighting in space.

  • Double kill!

  • HEROIC DEATH!!!!

    So say we all!!!!

  • When i look at thsi battle in full. (ust got season 2 on dvd) it seems like this was such a waste of a ship. If only Pegasus had stayed back and fired its main batteries on the baseships Lee wouldnt have had to do this suicide run. Such a damn waste.

  • Saving humanity while taking out THREE Cylon basestars...now that's the way to go.

  • @JustPhilNY She also rammed a fourth.... Splashed fifth one with her wing... And pissed the Cyclons off....

  • Its season 3 epsode 1

  • was watching starwars the clone wars hd version. while writing a book and they said aww we love the crash detail in a scene instantly thought of this and basicialy went on a swareing spree and how full of them selves they are. lucus arts should take some tips from this show as its pays big etention to detail and its estonishing i just love the ripple effect of the pegasus blowing up its just amazing

  • what episode is this from

  • @ferniedz100 One of the first 5 in season 3. Can't remember exactly which, but I believe its called: Exodus Part 2

  • thank you bsp you pwned two sylon baseship Thats it One ROCK two BİRDS cylon birds. Really big birds. We coming peace. Pegasus killed himself pegasus killed cylon baseship one pegasus killed cylon baseship two Double kill.Godlike.

  • NOOOOO PEGGY! YOU WERE SO YOUNG.

    Why...? WHYYYYYYYY?!

  • @Subartimaeus PEGGY? D: That's not what she is! :c!

  • Tenhoieka BANZAII!!!

  • this is the hands down best Sci-fy show ever...great acting. Special effects, storyline. Really well done. first rate. love it.

  • I never get tired of watching this! It is honestly the best ship sacrifice of all time!

  • BONZAIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • RIP The Beast

  • I hope the got a shit load of XP for that!

  • @andybabig just a bunch of merits

  • @andybabig just a bunch of merits

  • I hope the got a shit load of XP for that!

  • Epic, beyond all compare!

  • @squidman22 So say we all

  • When are we going to make are own battlestars? Don't you think it's about time? I mean we've had about 150,000 years to do it.

  • thumbs up if that was the most bravest thing youve ever seen

  • A single Battlestar flight pod is massive compared to a Basestar

  • I love the amazing size difference of a Battlestar and a Basestar. It still puzzles me why Galactica freaks out when a single Basestar jumps into DRADIS

  • @ItailianDynamite Usually where there's 1, there will be more to follow.

  • @ItailianDynamite Remember Galactica was being retired to museum duty at the start of the season. She was old, so probably not as heavily armed as Pegasus, and didn't have her full compliment of fighters either.

  • @ItailianDynamite Galactica is 50 years out of date at the start of the series, plus they are protecting so many ships on their own (Battlestars work in groups, not alone usually) they have to take the brunt of the punishment.

  • @ItailianDynamite I'm guessing it has less to do with size than the armaments. The Raiders can still pack a mean punch and it's one of the sole battlestars left in the universe.

  • @ItailianDynamite Also keep in mind that when one basestar jumps in, you have no reason not to expect more to follow.

  • 14 people will be airlocked

  • "Hey, Marty. Look at this piece of hull flying towards us."

    "Oh, what. Hmm.... says.. Peg-a-sus"

    "Kewel"

    Boom

  • if i farted and it was a family guy joke what would it be

  • kill, double kill KILL FROM TEH GRAVE

  • I like how the Name plate of Pegasus hit first. Basically letting them know who kicked their ass.

  • 13 dislikes... 12 models...

Oh! the HYBRIDS! They dont like this either!

  • Imagine NASA doing this with the last shuttle.

  • @JayJayKeats NASA shuttle VS Russian space station. RAM, boom, wing goes off, wakes into a Russian space-pod, or other station, WWIII. Only, sadly, Russian tanks would be like Base Stars VS a Battle Star. 6 T-90s for every Abrams tank! :D!

  • By junk I mean the debris that will orbit the planet.

  • Talk about space junk.

  • Elements of Captain Nemo and the Submarine Nautilus were evident in both versions of the Characters of Commander Cain and the Battlestar Pegasus.

As More realistic the Newer Version of Cain is. I will take the old Version of Cain any day of te hwek. He was Heroic and Godlike and a we all know, The Living Legend...

  • thirteen people were the cylons aboard the baseships when Pegasus collided.

  • 13 people were genuinely upset when they found out they weren't one of the final five.

  • WHY AM I SO ADDICTED TO THIS VIDEO!!??

  • Whats the song there

  • @MrIlovegamez Storming New Caprica

  • 13 people need to be airlocked

  • @mserra109

    15 now

  • 12 people are cylons.

  • Shouldn't it be called Sacrifice instead of Suicide Run? I mean, it did that to save the Galactica.

  • The show is brilliant, i like everything about it, the music, the sound effects its like no other show.

  • Why Pegasus? Why not Galactica? :(

  • @viewer8D cos Galactica is tough as nails.

  • Damn! Always makes me sad to see the Pegasus get destroyed! =(

Always thought Lee could've rescued Galactica AND STILL saved Pegasus as well. That ship was so damn good. Wish they'd have kept it in the show. :-(

  • The 12 cylons must hate it....

  • Centurian: HOLY MOTHE-

    Human: EARTH RRRRRRUUUUUULLLLEEESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

    *Boom*

Back on Earth, everyone looks into space.

    Soilder plays Taps

Never forget the brave men and women that died in the explosion

  • Re-watching the show. The one thing that always stuck out to me were the varying outcomes of a nuke going off; some only damaged the side of the ship, others (Gina's) wipes out about four ships all at once.

  • @Damon242 Nukes vary in destructive effect, depending on warhead type and mass of fissionable/fusionable material in them. The yield canrange from tens to ten thousands of kilotons. Also, the ships Gina wiped were civilian liners, while galactica is navy.

  • As for keeping the Pegasus and sacrificing the Galactica - that was their original plan. The Pegasus was to stay safely with the rest of the fleet while Galactica engaged the Cylons to provide cover for the escaping colonists.

They really didn't expect the Galactica to survive, which is why most of Galactica's fighter wings were either with the fleet or aiding the escape instead of providing cover.

Then Lee shows up at the last second and changes everything.

  • @Tyraeous Damn you, Lee...

  • It should have been "Sacrifice run" instead of suicide because it just saved Galactica.

  • when the hanger bay hit the other baseship i called that the Pegasus's "Bitch Slap"

  • one of the most epic triumphs in bsg

  • Long live the Pegasus, So Say We All!

  • @baz1310 So Say We All!

  • DOUBLEKILL!!!

  • @PFCSheridanMFO Ultra Combo!

  • @twosixteen HYPER COMBO FINISH!!!!!!

  • @PFCSheridanMFO double? im sure there was a 3rd killed. pegasus collision 1 the launch pod hit 2...... im sure the explosion from the 2nd blew up another one.

  • @plasm2 No, the 1st kill happened after it jumped in when it surprised the Cylons and blew of the Basestars away before they could redeploy. Then you had the collision and the launch pod take out the other 2. I think Galactica took out the 4th before it got surrounded.

  • @PFCSheridanMFO plus a raider at 0:25

  • why did it blow up? yes it just rammed that other ship but it shouldn't just blow up.

  • @goofytickle It looks like the reacotor or engine core explodes as the shockwave / smaller explosions reach it.. In any case, smash together two million ton plus ships at high speed containing who knows how much fuel and ordnance, including nukes...its not going to end well.

  • @goofytickle Engine overload maybe...

  • Salutes to Pegasus.

  • Apollo was such an incompetent officer any mission led by him was a potential suicide mission.

  • @DefconWarningSystem He showed an incredibly high level of competence in this scene.

  • @hunterkiller232134 Even in this scene I would have to disagree. A level of competence would have found some way to extract Pegasus from the situation or avoid the necessity of a suicide run altogether. It doesn't take a whole lot of skill to say Ramming Speed!

  • @DefconWarningSystem He was smart enough to leave behind all of the Vipers, Raptors and nonessential personal so that the Galactica would be heavily reinforced and the Pegasus would ensure minimal loss of life. Admittedly this might have indeed created a situation where the Pegasus could not have survived, it did ensure that the Fleet would not sustain as large a loss as if Galactica and her entire wing had gone down.

  • @DefconWarningSystem if they were really smart, Galactica should have stayed behind, and pegasus should have excecuted the rescue mission, and than galactica would have sacrificed its self they would have had a decent ship all the way until the end of the series.

  • @califsk8ter91

Well the fact was that Adama considered the rescue mission more risky, so it would be better for all that if shit hit the fan, then the better Battlestar would remain with the surviving fleet.

  • @califsk8ter91 then they would have had to change the name of the show =]

  • @califsk8ter91 losing the ship wasnt part of the plan

  • @califsk8ter91 Galactica vas old junk

  • @xsf908 Best Ship in the Fleet. So say we all!

  • I can swear I hear a chicken noise at 0:10

  • "ramming speed!!!" :)

  • ...anyone who disliked this is an idiot.

  • @DarthZimmeris well then, there are 12 idiots out there....

  • @DarthZimmeris tell my idiotic friends that.

  • @DarthZimmeris SO SAY WE ALL

  • Ramming Always Works. :-P

  • Galactica should have been the one to suicide into the base ships. It would been a more fitting end then flying into the sun.

  • @Stubbee yeah, if the fleet hadnt flown into the sun imagine how advanced we would be by now

  • wow

  • I agree the loss of the Pegasus was a moment that could have been avoided sure she could have been damaged yet reparable Apollo was stupid to sacrifice their only remaining newest battlestar! Hell at the end of the series it was clear the Galactica was falling apart at the seams! I won't debate about the end of the series which I thought was rather stupid, but come on folks there are still Cylons out there and they must really be pissed about the loss of their colony ship!

  • @blameist The fleet needed Bill Adama to survive. The Pegasus' back was broken and her FTL dead at this point in the battle. She had no chance in hell of escape. It's also a parallel to the original series' Pegasus' apparent destruction when she took two basestars with her. There's also an out-of-story reason for it: They needed the sets for the basestar interiors. Sets are EXPENSIVE, and it takes time and effort to dress them. Switching the same sets non-stop was unfeasible for the schedule.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman Plus Galactica was living in Pegasus' shadow. That couldn't keep up if the show was to be called "Battlestar Galactica"

  • /watch?v=zpfdt1XSRpw this scene is good too.

  • What makes you think that the Deathstar and the Pegasus would fight? I think Grand Moff Caine has a lovely ring to it. ;)

Seriously though, what's the point of all the fanwank debating in this thread? SW and BSG are clearly very different tech levels, so who cares if one ISD could wipe out the whole Cylon fleet?

  • I LOVE this scene. One thing I always notice is right about 00:16, when the aft part explodes, it sounds like a chorus of voices singing out. I don't know if that was part of the music playing or the actual sound of the explosion. Either way it sure added some coolness to the effect.

  • @HaBooBo0 nah, its a sound effect, you hear it alot when something big explodes :) sounds great in the hub

  • @al28283 What do you mean, "in the hub"?

  • @HaBooBo0 t'is an episode in season 4

  • I would have kept the pegasus instead of the galactica cause the galactica can't create new fighters and doesn't have as much armor aned firepower

  • @peet67812 Cylons screw up newer technologies, that's why all the other battlestars were destroyed rather easily, the Cylons could pretty much disable their systems. The Galactica was a relic, most of its systems manual, so it wasn't vulnerable to Cylon "cyber" attacks. Otherwise, yeah, I'd have kept the Pegasus too!

  • @obankobi Actually, the fixed the problem in the Razor flashbacks. Had to do with how the weapon systems were networked to the nav computer or something, which had a back door.

  • Did pegasus take out all four or only a few?

  • @Halobutcher she took 1 with her main guns, 1 with ramming and 1 with the explotion, so I suppose one survived.

  • One thing I don't like is that the Galactica is older and weaker than the Pegasus yet it held off 4 baseships longer then the Pegasus did with Galactica's help. The Pegasus can easily take on two baseships it crippled one wen it first got there! thats only three baseships actually firing on two battlestars if the Galactica held of four and could still jump I'm sure a newer better bad ass battlestar could hold off three baseships long enough for Galactica to jump and then jump in turn...

  • @SirFact I think because the galactica has no ventral canons. only frontal, pegauss had like 4x times the number of vipers and bombers than the galactica (in the first pegasus battle, they said they lost 600 units in the botched trap attack)

I think the basestars were designed to counter the NEWER (aka pegasus-like battlestars) since basestars = 100% missile and cylon rider+centurion combo.

battlestarts like pegasus = missiles, vipers.

galactica = ventral canons, missiles, vipers..etc.

  • @SirFact I agree as well, but the Mercury class Battlestars ( Pegasus ) shockingly had flaws in their performance. Her forward rail guns that were used to blow the first base ship once fired, usually broke down almost beyond repair normally. Also their FTL's required more Telium than regular battlestars so they often had to refuel just to maintain a long tore of duty. Also the pegasus's weapons grids were probably screwed when they came in, so gun crews took control and shot only forward guns.

  • can you imagine seeing a battlestar coming towards you at that speed?

    the cylons were saying "OH......SH--"

    BOOOM

  • She destroyed 3 out of 4 basestars, not bad. Not bad at all.

  • sure let the ancient galactica live at the cost of her stronger sister....

  • and in the fire of glory and selfe sacrafice did the pegasus redeme her selfe and that of her wayward admiral who lost touch with her soul SO SAY WE ALL

  • Can someone tell me what is the name of the song just before BS Pegasus hits that base ship? I've got and listened to all the OSTs from season 3 but nothing quite sounds like that...

  • Pegasus is 2 or 3 times bigger than a baseship. if one of his hangars is big almost like a baseship :D the Fleet rulles.

  • this was the saddest moment of my life. i love how on impact all music stops so there is only the whimpering of the raiders.. pretty solemn moment

  • Great upload. Please tell me you updated "The Adama Maneuver' as clean and unadulturated as this, too.

  • And the Raiders are all OH SHIT OH SHIT WHAT THE FUCK

  • this part always annoyed me...if pegasus alone could take out 2-3 ships...galactica could've taken on the remaining 1 ship....if only they jumped in together and attacked....ughh such a waste of a perfectly good ship.

  • The best part is all the raiders flying around aimlessly at the end like "where the hell do we land now?"

  • lol, last words of the Pegasus to the base ships and raiders: When you get to hell, tell em the Pegasus sent ya.

  • what episode?..........

  • @ColonelFleet exodus part 2, its in season 3

  • Das modernere und kampfstärkere Schiff wird zugunsten einem alten Museumsschiff geopfert?? Blödsinn. BG ist wirklich unglaublich langweilig.

  • @thelordofspace : we can see 4-5 Raptors escaping from Pegasus. about 50 people, to manage navigation and weapons systems. nobody was fighting with damages.

anyway, final explosion looks really like self-destruction system. they could just add this and everyone would be happy (and hate Lee even more ;> )

  • this is the part i never understanded how a new Battlestar filled whith high tech technology beter armor better weapon and everything died after 2 min combat while the glacatica was tanking all the shit during over 30 min -_- when we all know Galactica was striped off is major part of armor when you think to this its non sence

  • @thelordofspace never try to find logic in Sci-Fi... you won't find it.

  • @thelordofspace my guess is the old battlestars were designed not to rely on CIWS systems, so they had much thicker armor. The newer ones relied too much on their CIWS so they had thinner armor as a result.

  • @thelordofspace Pegasus was deliberately sent on a suicide run and was not trying to avoid any damage. She could have survived, but then we'd be left with no Galactica and a horribly badly damaged Pegasus.

  • all those raiders are probably going SHIT FUCK SHIT

  • Mother fuckers got some!

  • Realistically, they probably would have sacrificed Galactica and kept Pegasus since it was the newer ship.

I know, I know, it wouldn't have been Battlestar Galactica any more but I'm just sayin' ..

  • would have been the better choice^

  • @Debunka i don't think so. Galactica was a defensive ship, great for protecting the fleet. Pegasus what an offensive battlestar and gave little protection for a fleet. If i had the choice, i would have chosen galactica^^

  • @jointtaskforce11 i have to agree galacticas ability to shoot down incoming missiles far outweighed pegasus's own defensive ability. if you want to make an attack on a cylon target though pegasus is the obvious choice, perfect for hit and run attacks or hit and explode attacks

  • @Debunka

"Introducing a new series from minds that brought you Battlestar Galactica comes a Syfy Original series Battlestar Pegasus"

  • @Debunka yes pegasus was a newer battlestar but it didnt had as much armor as the galactica so its a wise choise to safe the ship that will endure longer so it can deffend the fleet longer becouse pegasus was more of an attack / raid battlestar and not realy made for deffending a long time tacking hits for the fleet and stuff

  • @imborgoss where did you get this fact?

  • @imborgoss it's spelled defend not deffend

  • @imborgoss perhaps, but the Pegasus, like all the Mercury Class ships had construction facilities on board. Tactically keeping the ship that can self-sustain itself and it's compliment of Vipers is a much better choice.

  • @imborgoss truthfully the3 neither Battlestar needed to be sacrificed the Pegasus was savable if it stayed on perimiter strafing the basestar fleet instead of going up the middle.

  • @imborgoss truthfully the neither Battlestar needed to be sacrificed the Pegasus was savable if it stayed on perimiter strafing the basestar fleet instead of going up the middle.

  • @Debunka Newer, larger, with more FLAK guns (about 80 or so more then Galactica) and with those powerful fixed frontal cannons, to be precise.

  • @ufsantaris555 Actually Pegasus was SMALLER than Galactica.

  • @Martintheauthor look at my video, and you will see that Galactica is 1414 metres and Pegasus is 1600

  • @ufsantaris555

don't forget the ECM systems, you can see them in effect when cylon missiles are diverted away from the ship. Galactica didn't have this. Pegasus was all round a much better ship, so yeah, they sacrificed the wrong one.

  • @HelmutVillam Definitely. Pegasus was able to pwn basestar with couple of shots from main front batteries (as seen in Exodus). Galactica was imho saved only because of symbolical significance.

  • I still miss that ship. bummer it blew up

  • 9/11 SCALED UP A 1000 TIMES

  • how could u say that

  • Fracking toasters.

  • funny how the galactica was able to smash into the cylon colony and still jump afterwards tho'. bit of a consistency issue there.

  • Galactica?

    It's the Pegasus.

  • I meant the pegasus explodes with one little ding, whereas galactica smashes right into the colny in the daybreak episode.

I suppose the pegasus had a lot more speed on impact.

  • I have no idea.

Hey that's a bit of a spoiler, maybe you should of PMed that.

  • good point, but if people are reading these comments, it's a pretty safe assumption that there will be spoilers lurking about.

  • way more speed dude, the pegasus was going full speed, while the galactica jumped right in front of the colony and accelerated a little to punch a hole.

  • #1 the show is named after Galactica would be funny if in the end its just like... they blew up

i think i almost cried at this part... lol

and the ending... *ATTENTION SPOILER DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE FINAL EPISODE* was crap stupid fucking bad, its just like HEY WE JUST FOUND EARTH WHAT WE GUNNA DO, um well we cant move so lets give our most powerful ship to the giant killing robots and send the rest of ours into the sun and then give up all our technology sumtin btrplz

  • I think in the end there was just too much to tie up and the writers weren't ready to simply end it.

I liked a lot of the stuff in the finals (ancient astronaut idea was brilliant), but there was a lot of plot lines that just got bodged and that totally took the shine off of the entire series.

  • Because Galactica didn't ram into colony with full speed....

  • Galactica was travelling at a snails pace when it hit the Colony compared to the Pegasus impact, it didn't so much as "smash" into it as it did push its way in. Its not hard to work out if you try using your brain.

  • Yeah all right fella, no need to get funny, if you read the thread, I actually said that myself.

  • I know I'm sorry, I posted the comment before noticing it.

  • no worries, cheers
