In my view, aside from Ma Lin, Xu Xin is the most exciting and promising player on the Chinese Mens' Table Tennis Team. Coupled with his incredible footwork, Xu Xin's forehand is simply superb, and he is only 20.
LoL, Mizutani trying to "Oh Sang Eun" Xu Xin, he doesnt realize that there´s only one Oh, and also, Xu Xin might be the fastest legged player nowadays
god Xu Xin is going to be so good, he already is really good, but his footwork and his short game is good enough that he is able to utilize his forehand predominately, and once his backhand gets a little better, he is going to be really hard to beat
his footwork is amazing. it doesn't seem that good b/c it looks like he's moving slow maybe cuz he has big strides. in the game though, he's covering a lot of distance and really fast. shots that ppl normally wouldn't move for a fh shot, he can do it
yeah that was my point.... His backhand ain't great, but because his footwork is so good, he can generally position himself so that all his shots use his forehand. Part of the reason he is able to do that is also the fact that his forehand puts a ton of top spin on the ball and causes the ball the bounce higher. So opposing players aren't used to that.
i think you have it backwards. he is trained to heavily favor his strong forehand, so he doesn't use his backhand much. but recently, he is learning to use his backhand more especially when blocking close to the table.
@17teacmrocks Xu xin's footwork is very bad compared to the rest of the Chinese team, but he has great reach. IF you've seen interviews on youtube of both him and his coach, they repeatedly say that he is incredibly slow. Liu Guoliang calls his footwork "yun zhong man bu", which is a hilarious and derisive phrase that means something along the lines of "leaping/dancing among the clouds." Sorry, I just got tired of everyone going on about his footwork.
look at the spin at the smash at 1:01

Mizutani's paying alot more passively than normal. I wonder if it's because he realises he can't win against Xu a power rally?

Xu Xin played awesome indeed. But it would be good if you would just show a little respect for Jun Mizutani.
