I Emailed Allen Elishewitz with questions on this knife when I did the auto conversion and got a response the next day! Seems like a really good guy, answered all my questions.
@ohTHATidiot autolock? If you are referring to if its an automatic knife, it is fully manual. If its about the lock, its dual action. It has to be manually engaged. If you engage it when it is closed, it will lock the lock when the knife is opened, so you have to release the safety, and then release the button lock.
But I didnt like it at all and found it pointless, and getting in the way, so I removed it.
Dude I just found out your making videos again for some reason they didn't show up in my sub box, anyway I was watching one of your older vids on 1095 cro/van and saw this on the side! -Vincent
looking at the knife at first it looks like the blade is bigger than the handle. hogue really went the way that smith and wesson shouldve gone. maybe smith and wesson can get together with their old partners and make some great blades. i really enjoy the button lock. this handle has too many buttons. i would love to have the safety sliding button removed all together. i really dislike safeties on knives.
@PavlovSandor It does seem to have to much going on in the handle, however, it did look better once I took off the safety. I agree there, stupid to put a safety on.
You can try emailing Allen Elishewitz, or send him a pm here at Youtube. Hogue/Elishewitz also got a forum at USN, you'll probably get faster respond that way.
Last weekend I was able to examine an aluminum handled variant of the knife. It wasn't really my thing, but even so I was impressed with the general quality feel. An interesting new brand, for sure.
p.s button lock knives are also cool since they are so easily converted to autos, a teenie drill bit and a coil spring and now you have an auto version...p.s. a stone-wash blade like that reminds me of Microtechs stonewash...BY FAR my preferred finish for looks and function and smooth as glass..GREAT review man
@cutlerylover That they are, and I removed the safety, it was really easy. I dont think that this knife has a strong enough dentent to keep it closed for an auto conversion.
I do believe that Hogue is planning on making an auto version of this knife though.
I have to say I love your video intro everytime, you always use the best kick ass tunes to get us pumped up for the video, haha...ps. big points In a RAGE fan
@cutlerylover PS, its just Zach, the band is One Day as a Lion, his new project. Tom Morrello also has some stuff going on as well (The Nightwatchman, Street Sweeper Social Club who you will hopefully hear on the BM51 Review)

Good review, thanks a lot.
I don't understand your gripe with the safety switch though :)
It's pure genious to me, people who don't like just won't use it.
Those who like it will have a secondary safety when the knife is open.
Win-win scenario in my book :)
