  • Where is OPRAH in this? lol

  • I loves me some EVELYN KING but I have never ever heard this hot track before, until today!!! wish someone upload the CD quality version....!!!!! please....

  • THIS WAS THE GREATEST HIT IN 1987 AND WAS NUMBER I ON THE CHATS WOW BUT NOW IS A RARE GROOVE HOUSE MUSIC

  • man i have been looking for this song for over a decade, had no idea the godess made this just shows how f-up today's radio play is. the only time i can hear this is by watching a old eps of soul train. a great club beat + a great voice = magic.

  • This cut is a SUPREME example of sophisticated r&b dance music from the '80s. It's one of my favorite Evelyn 'Champagne' King songs. And I'm sorry, fruityblack, I disagree with your comment about the video being stupid. The runway concept actually accentuates the song with attitude and good ol' fashioned FIERCEness! It's about the mood that the song conveys, not just about the artist that sings it.

  • My Girl!!!!

  • I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED this track!!!

Fruityblack: Nothin´wrong with video, u just need 2 understand the reasoning 4 additional dancers in music videos & concept therein, that´s all.

Sierra64: In 80´s, music wasn´t´bout competing with so & so but, more about doing something artists enjoyed, doing it right in terms of REAL music...If competition was a priority in those times, they´d´ve sounded all the same like today´s pop music. I know how 2 appreciate good music!

    Ntsikelelo - South Africa

  • get it eck!!!

  • CLASSIC HOUSE MUSIC,Definitively Had The David Cole & Robert Clivilles C&C MUSIC FACTORY Touch All The Way,They Later Wrote Some Songs For MARTHA WASH & Others That Used This Formula as Well,TAKIN OVER,& I FOUND LOVE The Remix Version,Alas This Sound Died Out When David Cole (RIP) Did. House Music has Never Been The Same Since. There Are A Few DJ/REMIXER/PRODUCERS Who have Incorporated This Sound in Some of Their Offerings,QUENTIN HARRIS,DAVID MORALES & FRANKIE KNUCKLES,etc etc etc. Nuff Said!

  • she wanted to compete with janet

  • Does anyone know what the lyrics are, from 0:55 to 0:59? I can't figure it out.

  • "I know you have heard the saying like hand in glove"

  • I remember seeing this video on Video Soul back in '88. Wow I was only 7 back then. Great song. It is exactly as I remember it. Cool

  • Man, the house beat is off the hinges!

  • this my jam thanks for the post

  • gotta like ms king playing the congas, i absolutley love her!

  • Thanks for posting this, I hadnt seen this video in a long time.

  • I cannot believe to this day that this was the finished version that made the LP. What I mean is that it did not require remixing when it came time to release this as a radio single. But I see that they did edit it down a bit for radio play. Anyway this is one of my favourite Evelyn King songs next to "Your Personal Touch". Now the dance version to that song if off-the-chain as well!

  • It's nice to know that sometimes the record companies don't feel the need to totally redo the song for the radio, innit?

The song really didn't need any remixing, it's true. It's perfect as it is. Shame it wasn't a pop smash too.

  • Interesting song and video...a reminder that greed isn't always good. I stil find it so hard to believe that she hasn't cracked the top 25 in twenty years. Excellent singer.

  • Man I forgot she had a video for this track, nice, but I definitely remember the track. In 1988 this track was hot, produced by C&C Music Factory, no wonder it was hot.

  • she's housin'

  • Thanks marcusrob02,what a hit of my time !

  • FIERCE FIERCE FIERCE! WERQ! This is a classic moment in the influence of the black gay underground (voguing, fashion, house music) on mainstream pop and r&b, and yes Evelyn influenced many musical chanteuses!

  • I had a feeling that this was a classic hit that influenced that community, because I could here it in the music. It's a shame how many people don't even acknowledge this record anymore. I don't even here it played!

  • Class of "89"... Rep South Philly all Day (ECKing)

  • does anyone have the live video of ms king playing the congas? i absolutley love her!

  • fierce!

  • Its back and in full effect, not another "preview" crap that was posted last year. The previous version was from video vibrations in 1988. Thank you!
