  • I mix about 1-2 pumps of burts bees facial cleanser with a teaspoon of baking soda. Exfoliate and rinse off.

  • I use baking soda with burts bees facial cleanser. It doesn't burn.

  • haha stupid peaple!!! :p they actually tried it {i didnt, well i was going to do it but then i saw the comments haha}

  • IMPORTANT

"As far as I know, its baking soda you want to be using NOT baking powder. (just wanna be clear on that cause baking POWDER is apparently not good for your skin)"

The burning sensation could either be because it was baking POWDER rather then baking soda OR it wasn't a PURE baking soda.Other baking soda isnt good if it doesn't say PURE.

Also if you have very sensitive skin, be sure to first test this out on your arm or hand before putting it on your face & see if it burns you or not.

  • This really worked for me i seen instant results after i washed it off with warm water but my question is how often are you suppose to use this? im guessing once or twice a week but i want to be sure.

  • the burning sensacion is the baking soda you have to build resistence to it so use little first then use more amount of baking soda the next time hope this helps ;)

  • It hurts soo bad y is that, it broke me out..!

  • oh my...ma face feels like its on firee! :O

  • i htought i was the only one that thought it was burning it was burning me a littke but and started annoying me so i rinsed it off it irritate a little

  • OK guys, this is stupid.. there are much better ways to help acne. You need to learn how to fight it from the inside, since that is where it comes from.

Check out my channel to see what I mean.

  • put it on for TWO minutes and then wash right away to prevent the burning and more breakouts. after you wash it off apply a moisturizer and your acne cream. your face will be pretty soft :)

  • @ILIKEPONIESTHEYRCOOL :O really? I'm 11 and I have alot of spots around My nose area and chin... I'll make sure I don't ues that meathod! Thankyou for that Warning... I really want to see her wearing the mask!

  • I havent tried the mask yet but I really hope it workss!

  • baking soda dries up your skin like no body's business do not try this mask

  • that facial was the worst it just dried up my skin

  • i like your lab coat =)

  • it works... so far... i have 6 mins to go

  • how often do you use this mask?

  • Comment removed

  • its supposed to burn tht means its working but its not tht bad its more of a tingle

  • question: since the point of the mask is to dry out the pimples, can a rich moisturizer be counter-productive? basically, will it ruin the effects of the mask? since ur skin absorbs/heals best while u sleep, i have heard that u should use more moisture at night for better replenishing. however, for the same reasons, it would seem that u should use ur most effective acne treatment then as well. dilemna. if anyone understood what i just said (as confusing as it was), feedback is appreciated!!!

  • @kittenkannible aww sorry but peels are suppose to burn that means it's working... if it's too much put COLD MILK on it

  • this works!!! I now do this once a day. I have a food allergy and they can't figure it out..so I tend to break out. I tried everything and it wasn't until I did this-I saw results. Forget pills..they tend to make you gain weight..this .68 box did wonders for me :)

  • this burns so bad DO NOT try it i put it on about ten minutes ago, then it started burning really really really really bad so I took it off (it STILL hasn't stopped burning, it started burning about 15 minutes ago)

  • Is this supposed to burn? i'M WORRIED!

  • it really works!

  • everyone has different skin and it won't work for all of us. remember that! on another note hydrogen peroxide and baking soda instead of water is better! if u know what hydrogen peroxide is you'll know y it's good. ;)

  • does it work?????

  • tried this several times in the past works for some ppl once past the buring feel

but for me it burns and makes me break out

  • ahhh i did this and my face is RED it completely burnt and made my face reeeed this rly didnt work for me

  • can you use bicarbonate of soda?

  • @chloegardnee HAHA it's the same thing with a different name>>>

  • @roxsand actually doing that actually wears off the enamil of your teeth over time.

  • How often do you do this exfoliator?

  • i don't trust this woman!!! i look her face she has bad skin so i never gonna listen and try what she say :/

  • @aneromyllet35254ever watch every time someone says that it always works on them LOL!

  • i can't get a paste.

  • it smells bad!

  • ouch, yeah this burns a little. I hope it works -.-

  • @Kristenisalwaysright have you noticed a difference yet in your skin?

  • if u use baking powder it might not burn to some skin types... just try it

  • If the baking soda gives you a burning sensation and you have a little redness after this mask, I suggest smearing honey on your face and leaving it for about 10 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water and finishing with a splash of cold water to close the pores. I do this after rinsing my face and it reduces the redness and soothes the face. It never burns for me though but I do it because it feels great ^_^

  • It didn't work 4 me and it mad my skin all dry :(

  • i love how this isnt like expencive products or a certian type of something. thanks so much for this!

  • my face was like burning!!!!!!!

and it still burns after washed it off!!!!!

  • It works! but first you got to get use to it and it wont burn so much. just kinda tingles but yup it works.

  • I have to agree with the other people who said it burns after the first 2 minutes. It does burn but not that much, but if it helps reduce the acne than i guess you gotta go through some pain. xD After a while pain reduces :)

  • @xXwhiteheart72Xx I think the burn comes from oxidizing taking place on your skin, which is why its good for acne.

  • i don't reccomend exfoliating with a scrub and your are rubbing in and spreading bacteria from presant spots creating more. a good solution would be a toner with a exfoliating chemical in like Clinique's anti-blemish solutions toner (step 2). :)

  • it didnt burn 4 me but it did make my skin a lil' red

  • Do u start seeing results immedietly? R dies it take a while? Days? Weeks? Couple times a week?

  • omg everyime i would move it would come off my face and it got everywhereit took me 5 days to get all of it up!!!

  • i tried this earlier 2day and it didnt burn 4 me

  • is it suppose to burn!!! :-(

  • LOL this mask is new to me I just used it 2 minutes ago and my face is on fire. Not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing? If it works I guess it doesn't matter if it burns.

  • omg I know I just tried it and my face is on fire, I took it off after 2 mintues

  • yes it is lol :3 sometimes i think :P

  • @MultiBlonde34 no not really

  • @MultiBlonde34 Maybe adding some honey will help?

  • @MultiBlonde34 that would probably be the baking soda cleansing your pores....proactive is like that too

  • @MultiBlonde34 acne is made by pimples which are caused by the oil glands and the baking soda elliminates the oils

  • @MultiBlonde34 i had tried it with yogurt and it felt icy cold... with water it isn't thick enough to stay.

  • @MultiBlonde34 I might not try this cos you say it burns.

  • Your the only person on Ehow that i listen to... al the rest are of there head lol one girl said put baby oil on your face but baby oil clogs your pores!

  • You should be able to find french green clay at the pharmacists, organic shop or herbal store it isn't very expensive. I bought 300g a few months ago at it cost about 5€, although you can find it cheaper than that. Mix the powder into a paste with some water or you can get the clays already in paste form. Don't use a metal spoon to mix the paste. It is used for horses on their legs so you might be able to find green clay at a saddlery but it might not be the same quality.

  • I use baking soda mixed with hydrogen peroxide. Works like a charm.

  • can u give some advise if i accidentally popped the acne. what should i do?

  • you can buy a acne treatment gel or spot treatment. You need to clean the place that popped. and than put the spot treatment. I got mine from my local dokter. Its a medical spot treatment. Works wel.

  • haha "accidentally"

  • Firstly it depends on WHY you have acne! Much easier combating acne at the source. Cleaning twice a day is not good because it removes natural oils and the skin will compensate by producing more. Clean the skin in the evening before going to bed. A good face mask for acne is french green clay with a few drops of tea tree/ mint/ lavender essential oil.

Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate and is around pH 8. Its a bit harsh to use directly on the skin. It could be used with an oatmeal base though.

  • holy crap! i jus tried this and it burned like hell. i think itll be my last time cuz i cant stand the sting. guess ill never no if thisll actually work...DX

  • The presenter look a little like anne hathaway I think =^•^=

  • @wannafreeze I thought that too!! straight away!! :)

  • Does it really help?

  • if this leaves ur skin itchy and hard should i keep on using it ???

i also notice tha sometimes when i take of the mask it leaves some acne reder an turning whitish???WHAT SHOULD I DOO

  • if it leaves it itchy and hard dont keep using it you might have an alergic reaction and it the acne is white that means the acne is ready to pop and it will go away if you pop it.

  • i agree

  • Can you use baking powder instead of soda?

  • Yes, baking powder has baking soda in it. I used this for about 2 weeks when I couldn't find my baking soda, I still use it when I found my baking soda. Just be prepared that for the first ten seconds when you put it on, it will sting like HELL! After ten seconds, it will feel normal.

  • Heres a tip

if you have sensative skin DON'T USE BAKIN SODA!

  • just in the acne areas?

  • It can be on the whole face or only acne spots

  • how often should I put on this facial

  • If you have normal skin about every week. If you have extremely oily skin about every 2-3 day for 10 minutes. I do NOT recommend this is you have very dry or sensitive skin.

  • is the water warm, hot cold does it matter

  • If it gets red(just a wee bit) and itchy while you have it on, should you not do it anymore?

  • I happens to me....nothing bad happenend so i suppose its ok to keep doing it...i still do it.

  • That happens just because the baking soda is pretty abrasive, and exposes the underlayer of the skin. Dont worry, just make sure that you keep that area clean until the redness fades.

  • You should do it less often

  • thx thx ! so much
