once they serve their 2 years of SDP they will be able to do what Marines do Best.

I agree, drilling on grass is hard as hell. I know this from experience.
It's hard for three reasons:
1- You can't hear each others foot steps
2- It's hard to do facing movements precisely on grass.
3- If there is a pothole in the grass and you don't see it, well...yea... suddenly one element of the platoon sprains his ankle.
