i'm sorry to say this, but i can't believe dr. dutta roy's students didn't immediately get problem 5.9! when dr. dutta roy opened the idea that the other inductor is also short, i immediately realized (intuitively) that the current will be divided to the two short circuits. good thing i wasn't in that class.
