  • its funny how the body is so prepared already, the vault was screwed from the take off and yet she still automatically does the twist and shape, its the same on all vault crashes.... quite remarkable

  • This is what took her out of metal contention for sure...I bet she was like damn lol

  • I'd rather watch Natalia crash than any gymnast today stick.

  • Anyone know what competition this is from?

  • @olishka22

    1988 Olympics AA Vault 1

  • Very scary, luckily they didn't count both vaults back then so she still ended up 5th AA [:

  • Did she get a 0 for this one?

  • Yes, landing on the back is an automatic 0

  • ooohhh my gggaaa.... that scared mee soo much did not expect that

  • Looks like one of her feet slipped off of the spring board. This is why they have a mat that goes around it now...so there are no more Julissa Gomez's.

  • Ah, so this is the vault she got a zero for. The coverage I saw only showed her second vault and I always wondered how she got a zero on the first one. Yikes!

  • scary accident!! i am gland she is OK

  • That is the single scariest vault I have seen in my life. It even beats Elise Ray's fall in 2000 warmups. You can actually Laschenova's foot slip off the board. laskjdfhadslkjf!

  • The amazing thing is she got up and did a really good DTY for a second vault.

  • The feet must hit first then if you sit then you get a score. Otherwise it's a 0.00. I remember hearing about this vault during the broadcast of the AA and was trying to picture exactly how it happened-then along came you tube. Holy Cow!!

  • omg thank god she landed on her back instead of her head. WOW

  • though landed on her back also can cuased serious injured ,in fact Chinese female Gymanstic "Sang Lan" now paralysed and it was quite sad too :(

  • Ehmagawd!!

  • was the music dubbed in? that's awesome and hilarious if so.

    Glad she was okay

  • she's luck, she could get paralized

  • That was soooooo scary!!!!

  • OUCH!! Poor girl!

  • She totally missed to plant her right foot on the vault. I hope everybody saw it. That's the reason why her left foot plowed all the off the vault and thus, causing her to lift her body properly and missing her hands on the vault too. I think she was the reason why it is required to put safety barricades around the vault, or was it another gymnast. Hmmm

  • English please?

  • The BBC were watching Boginskia on floor but we could here the crowd and see Shushunova wince in the background.

  • that's really scary...thank god they got rid of that old vault

  • The vault had nothing to do with it. It could happen on the vault used today.

  • At least she landed on her back and not her head.

  • but she missed her hand on the vault and got all her height from bouncing off her own head

  • D: ....damn. In that case; at least she was on her way up and not down.

  • I doubt USAGymnast posted that comment to offend you, but rather to explain the fall to average Joes who know nothing about gymnastics. Keep your snotty comments to yourself unless they truely apply.

  • i cant quite make it out. Did she crash by doign a 1 1/2 rolll out or tucked arabian??? it looks like tuck arabian to me

  • wow! Thank you for posting this. They never brodcast this vault.Just her 2nd one.

  • She scored a 0.000 on this vault! But Natalia was not phased. She came back and did a Yurchenko double twist for a 9.825!

  • why did they give her a zero? She clearly executed some attempt at a vault and made contact with the horse, so surely they should have givn her a 7.2 or somthing?

  • When you don't put your hand on the horse (she really slept) or you land somehow on your feet (she land completely on her back), it's an automatic zero... Something like this. Someone probably know the exact rule more than I do. ;)

  • Yeah, if a gymnast doesn't plant the feet firmly into the ground, even if it's a fall, then it's an automatic zero. Same goes for not planting the hands on the horse.

  • Damn!! She is lucky she didn't break her neck!!

  • ouchhh.......:((

Did u get this from a documentary, i would like to know it if it's please :)))

  • @comaneci1

Something like that; theres an ESPN logo on the top right corner.
