Very good job, man! I've posted some fingerstyle covers, and it's remarkably more difficult to get a good performance than many would think .Keep up the great work!
Great cover! I'm trying to learn this song too so it was helpful to see a more up-to-date version of this song beside the other videos with considerably low sound quality of Michael Hedges playing it.
Jesus Shane, I've known you since you were 14, and you continue to improve geometrically. You and Jake Shimabukuro are my favorite acoustic guitar players on YouTube...
very nice job! I see you have learned it by ear hehe, wicked techniques man! keep up the good work and just don't care about what the guitar no-knows say about adding to hedges's style/song.. your playing gives the song a very similar sound(allmost identical to hedges) but then again you play it in your own way ... enough said... your awesome dude.
Thanks for your comments, but frankly, I'm not sure what you mean exactly by "adding" to the song. My transcription was done purely by ear, so my technique might be a bit different than how Michael played it, but I did nothing to alter the song's composition.
many attempt to play songs by michael hedges yet few succeed in capturing the beauty and dynamics. being able to play his songs technically is only half the battle. you managed to play his songs both technically as well as emotionally. very well done. it makes me happy to know there are musicians like you out there.
I'm thinking of buying the Takamine an10 you're playing. Can you give me your opinion on it and how does it blend with the lr baggs M1 pickup (looks like).
Yes, it is an LR Baggs M1 -- I have the active version. While it's active, it's not REALLY high output, but it's certainly loud enough to plug directly into a PA. I just put the pickup in this year, and I've had the guitar for about four years now. It's very rich in high mids and has a fair amount of treble, but doesn't have terribly full bass response. Either way, I like it quite a bit.

Don't listen to what others say. Obviously they're jealous. Just keep doing your thing. You're an awesome guitar player. Keep it up
