  • i used this kit and cant get the ash tray to clip into the clips in this aftermarket bracket. So its loose, which sucks. have to fab something up i guess.

  • Or is it an amp compatibility problem in which the amp will absolutley have to be bypassed somehow ???

  • I have a 94' es300 lexus. The old factory has 2 plugs. My new aftermarket came with only one harness slot. Only one plug fits in aftermarket slot, so where does the other plug go ? The main harness plug does not seem to have the speaker wires. I'm getting power and popping noise but no music. Should the new harness speaker wires be plugged somehow into the other factory plug or somehow into the amp underneath the pass. seat ?? Where does my factory harness speaker wires go to get sound ? Thanks

  • @1misanthropist - Your adapter harness should be an amp integration harness, meaning it has 2 sets of RCA ends coming off of it to plug into the back of your new deck. I believe on that car, you do only use one of the plugs. The amp integration harness should work fine (May have a little engine noise), unless your factory amp is bad, in that case you will need to bypass it.

  • @1misanthropist Gotcha. Yea, the rca cables are 4 prongs, I had to buy additional cables to connect in back of new deck since there were only 2 prong slots 1 red, 1 white, to plug up. I really, really hope I don't have to bypass the amp as from my understanding that would be a ton of work. ( taking seat out, buying new wires, cutting right length, ton of splicing etc from my understanding and I'm a newbie at this . Should new harnas speaker wires go into that secong factory plug somehow ?Thanks

  • @1misanthropist - As far as I know the only harness for that car is a single plug. Usually when there is an unused plug, it goes to a factory CD Changer/ Satellite radio tuner, or steering wheel controls etc..

  • how much would all of this cost?

  • please tell me where did you get the new dash kit for the stereo? ive been wanting to install my mp3 car stereo but no idea where to get the kit.

  • should do but it doesn't have the typical grounding crimp on the end. As for the small adapter the orange/black wire is also lacking a corresponding wire... Any adivce for me or should I just tape them off? Thanks for the help man

  • Thanks man I appreciate it, just realized you listed the part numbers at the beginning of the video haha. My dash kit is on the way but I already have the wiring harness adapter so I went ahead and fixed that up, but there's a few wires on the 2 adapters that aren't being used... On the larger one the orange/white (illumination), blue (power antenna), and black (chassis ground) aren't being used and have no corresponding wires from my radios wiring harness...obviously I know what the black wire

  • @KSLDmacdaddyAB - You should have those wires on your aftermarket radio. Each one of those wires should correspond to a wire on your radio harness. Not all radios will have the illumination wire though. The black wire should go to the black wire on your radio, it supplies ground to your radio. The blue wire can go to the (blue/white) wire on your radio. The Blue/white wire is used to turn on power amplifiers in your system (If equipped), but can also be used to activate power ant

  • @stylerwilson1 - The orange/black wire is usually a Dimmer wire and wont be used. What stereo are you installing?

  • Hey thanks a lot for posting this...I've been looking all over for information about replacing my Nak Sound system along with installation guides. Video was very helpful but I had a few questions..... Where exactly did you get your dash kit and wireing harness adapter? And if you know where, would you kinldy let me know if what their item #s were if youre able to find out? Thus far all of the dash kits I've seen have only had one bay, not the second for climate control....

    Thanks a lot :)

  • @KSLDmacdaddyAB - You can purchase the Dash Kit and Harness at any local car stereo shop that does installs. I used Metra, the part# for the Kit is 99-8156. The part# for the Harness is 70-1761. Not all shops will use Metra for their parts, but they should have something that works.
