  • Using sandpaper in increasingly fine grits to remove scratches followed by polishing with BRASSO does a great job!

  • this product sucks. I used it. Doesn't do anything.

  • Use this on wood grain? Yes or no.

  • Can you use wood grain

  • Why are all Meguiars Staff Old?

  • @lordaboveall loyalty

  • or get some 1500 grit and some compound and wax......... lol save yourself a couple bucks

  • How do you do this without a drill?

  • ... he didn't tape off the headlight... 0_o

  • How much is the kit?

  • try toothpaste and a brush. it's just as effective. no joke.

  • Used this on my 02 Impreza and found that it only works on cars with very subtle yellowing or to just keep new headlights looking new. It only lasts until your next car wash and then the haze comes right back. I also found that if you apply it more then once in one session it becomes harder to remove and gums up. I recommend the 3M kit.

  • Meguiar's Is the way to go! I've used their products for 5 years and never had a disapointing product.

  • you can just use toothpaste to clean headlights

  • Nice car!

  • this stuff is crap don't buy this

  • @gucio123456 its not crap just because you didnt use it right

  • blue magic headlight restorer has a silicone sealer, it'll probably last better if you drive your car regularly, this McLaren is clearly a show car so its not moving too much lol

  • @1:57 you can see some small scratched on the bottom. The before shot was angled more to show the scratches but the after shot was angled different to not show the remaining scratches as well.

  • this kit doesnt really get rid of the scratches it just buffs them out. they are still visible. 3m kit is way better.

  • @moNYTx Your comment doesnt make sense

  • @buenoisbuen lol i see how it doesn't. It buffs away the whiteness of the scratches. You can still see the scratches after.

  • @moNYTx I agree with you. I just finished doning my wifes van using the 3M kit and the headlight came out great.

  • we stopped the polish thing when we found LiteRite. Simple, permanent, and lifetime warranty.

  • this stuff BLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I liked the music on the back ground. It is like NFS games tunes(NFS2, NFS3).

  • i love this stuff i used it on 1 with bardly any scrahes but when i put on IT LOOKED 20 times better you guys are the pest

  • ive never used this kit but meguiars medium diamond cut cleaner and ultimate compound works wonders. of course you need a buffer to use the diamond cut cleaner but that is a great all around product

  • What. If. I. Run over. A. Dog.can this. Product. Remove. Blood. Stains. From. My. Headlights

  • wow where did the headlight go btw bad headlight or not this car is beautiful anyways

  • this stuff sucks.......don't waste your money, it doesn't work....taking it back to the store.......

  • Mequiar's PlastX works great for keeping your headlight looking good before they go bad and even after they have been restored by a professional. (Must be applied often, just like sunscreen works to stop sun damage on your skin. This product slows down the damage the sun does to your headlights) Most kits if not all of them; the average guy (from my experience) will not get the results they will be happy with. Most kits are price so that most people will not take it back to the store.

  • It only worked just OK on one of my headlights and not at all on the other (that was the worst one). A week later it looks like I didn't do it at all.

  • This stuff didnt work for me.

  • these kits are a waste of money al you need is some 1500 grie sand paper some wax and a buffer or tooth paste or baken soda mixed with water

  • @rogerscottburchett1 I recently used what I had in the garage and it worked also; 2000 grit sand paper followed by buffing compound and then a couple coats of wax. Now to see how long that lasts. A better sealer in the end is needed.

  • Thats a McLAREN M6A not a GT you twit !!! Headlights look TOTALLY different on the GT. He wanted to sound like he knew what he was talking about.

  • Can this be used to polish off the oxidation on red taillight lenses too?

  • I used this on a '98 Altima and my '00 Maxima and it did what I needed it to do. It was better than buying new headlight assemblies! My HIDs look really good now.

  • so does it make the HIDS even brighter? :D

  • Yes. My lenses were pretty dirty. I have 6000k so when a car with factory HIDs pulls along side me I can honestly say that mine look better.

  • cool, but what if the haziness is on the inside of the lens?...I guess then you would just perform the same step on the inside of the lens?

  • @twostep2009 yeah but most of the headlamps are vacumed sealed so therefore once you pry them apart they are broken for good. so really you can only do the outside or just by oem replacements.

  • @dcinhere Vacuumed sealed huh? You must loose that vacuum then once you replace a blown bulb making them "broken for good". They are not vacuum sealed, try it inside the lens.

  • @dcinhere LOL WHAT!!!! You're an idiot mate. Wtf happens when you replace a fucking globe then?

  • @gnarly79 a fucking globe? Not sure what you mean. My headlights are a one peice headlight that can be pryed apart but will break them and render them useless. The problem with my headlights are they are foggy on the inside. I was told by a mechanic that they are vaccum sealed together when they are molded. So before you call someone an idiot know what the fuck they are talking about in the first place MATE.

  • @dcinhere, if you believe that your headlights were vacuum sealed, then you must be a bigger idiot than your mechanic. What the hell do you think happens when you change a headlight bulb? Do you hear a sucking sound when you pull the bulb out? Of course you don't....because a headlight is not vacuum sealed. LOL

  • @EvenSteven2004 If you know what you are talking about then tell me how is the lense sealed to the backing. Give me an explanation then call me an idiot. They are sealed at the factory. Together idk how but they are. Maybe Electrostatically idk.

  • @dcinhere, they are sealed with an adhesive very similar to RTV. They are not vacuum sealed, which would be impossible anyway because there's a hole for the headlight bulb that needs to be inserted. So yes, you're an idiot and so is your mechanic.

  • @EvenSteven2004 Yeah okay Thankyou for the enlightenment. I feel so much smarter now that I know how a light is put together. Who gives a fuck neways. GFYS.

  • @dcinhere, hey, don't mention it. I'm here to help stupid people learn how the world works. If you need anything else in the future, just holler. LOL

  • This should work great on a Motorcycle windshield? I think I'll try it and see!!

  • this stuff is garbage, lets see them use it on a really funky headlight

  • true this stuff alone won't work, I had to use 3 different wet/sand paper then use this product for finish touch.

I watch this video here on youtube before i used this product.

Car Headlight Restoration : Headlight Restoration: 600 Grit Sandpaper

  • yeah I tried this stuff and wasn't satisfied with the results

  • The only negative is it does not last. Your headlights will haze very quickly since the headlights have not been resealed.

  • @golfer393

Do you know of any kits that have the sealant in them?

I have used Glassylite with its nano sealant and polish system, which i thought ROCKED... but, the sanding process of it? SUCKED...

    Any ideas?

  • @golfer393 they have a sealant you can put on them when your done for 6 bucks and mine have been for four months now still looking brand new

  • @golfer393 What you should do but they dont tell you is to wax the headlights, it protects them and creates a coating around it basically sealing them.

  • @golfer393 Actually they sale a sealant as well.

  • @mattdidit84 *Sell , Sorry....

  • I hear nothing but good reviews about their product. I think the key is a good buffer. I have a cheap one and it took longer because of the lack of power. You got to be careful not to use too much rpm though otherwise you can burn the plastic.

  • does anyone know any auto glass cleaner tat actually works. for windows. i feel like ive tried everything. i show my car and its like the only thine wrong is the smoggy windows

  • use rubbing alcohol

  • @soowoopdat410 try the ZAINO Glass Polish... heard very good things about it...

    Regards from MEXICO...

    PEACE!

  • @soowoopdat410 Aparently the best thing to use is a chamois. Every car detailing place I have been to all say they only use chamois' to clean the windows.

  • Does this remove oxidation and old headlight restoration attempts? Because I used crystal view headlight restorer and it sucked! Now they look worse with the new sealing crap on them! I don't wanna buy new headlights!

  • I just tried glassylite headlight restorer on some hella headlight globes and all it did was scratch the glass (from sanding- what a surprise!) Now the globe is foggy looking and I too must renew it.

Meguires might work on plastic - as they demonstrate here. Wouldnt hope with glass though.

  • youre not supposed to sand glass, silly. but plastic u can because it has no direction when you sand it. oh good video but i recommend something else than a buffer. we dont usually have buffers...

  • use the 3m kit

  • @john21992

I got to say I've been working my Avalanche (2005) for two days! I've went over the headlights 6 times each at least! They still don't look like new! I use it until there is no more compound to use. Then it will be just like throwing your money right out the frikin window!!!!!!

  • @hevyduty59 if your headlites are bad ..take 600 grit sandpaper and go over them ,,then go to 1500,,,then go to 2000 or 2500 grit paper ..all wet sanding of coarse..then get some good plastic polish and a buffer at slow speeds ..you will get great results and will only take about a 1/2 to do both sides..i always wet sand bad headlites then polish and they come out great..but you will have to do it again in a few months cuzz the headlites no longer have uv protection , but it's a cheap easy fix

  • @390merc65

I will do the wet sanding and then polishing, and plan to clear coat the lens for longevity.

  • @hevyduty59 you should see an improvement doing the wet sanding...when you get to 2000 or 2500 grit you will see the lens will almost look clear..good luck

  • Try the 3m resto. kit, it removes oxidation. It comes with a couple of sandpaper sheets. Worked really well for me.

  • fantastic to see Meguiar'sUSA on YouTube!! Asia loves these videos!
