My father never drove a rig, but he sure did drive. We've been cross country together so many times. North, south, east and west. Passed down his Avalanche to me. I love my dad, and he knows it. This year will mark nearly 13 years since our first road trip together.
@Hartford1992 My daddy is a delivery driver for a mail company. He don't drive a rig, but uses his personal truck for his work. We worked many nights together when I lived back home near him. We listened to Red Sovine every other weekend and us singing Sovine's hits are my favorite memories! :^)
I grew up with diesel pulsing through my veins, a many a night sleeping in the rig as a young fella between Sydney and Tamworth/ Northwest NSW to the music of this and the legendary Slim Dusty. Daddies long dead now and I now drive the lonely long stretches of central Australia with Slim, Red, Tammy and others reminiscing of days long gone but never forgotten

@depsterboy The exhaust is beneath the bumper. It is an Air Force R-9 fuel truck. Behind the cab is maze of 4 inch aluminum fuel plumbing. Behind that is a 5000 gallon tank of jet fuel. Running the exhaust forward is just a good idea. I'll bet money this is Kunsan Air Base Korea. Search google maps for "35.906728,126.622088" without quotes and you'll see where I think this photo was taken.

An old DM Mack...one of the ugliest but toughest Macks ever built. Typically used for concrete mixers and heavy dump trucks for their heavier frames and suspensions. The 3/4 cab gives the truck and offset appearance.

Hi I like this song but just a comment of what would really be cool is if you could do the same thing with another song of Red Sovine Hello Im a truck an have the same truck sing it the same way I would try it but Im not that smart but I still think it would be a great really unique just send a reply to
Great song, growing up my father was a truck driver, and only home on the weekends. I grew up not really knowing him, I felt like I was robbed of my dad, anyway when I grew up he quit driving and I had a chance to bond but still wish he was around when I was young, I'm now 35 married with 3 kids of my own. My father passed away 2 years ago, This song really made it sink in, because the sad part is after he died it felt like he just on the road but this time he's not coming home.
@SuperChuckie34 I can relate to that!! My father passed away a year ago, but I still keep waiting for hin to call me and tell me what state or town he is in and what the weather is doing we he is at. I miss you dad "TAZ"!
@pepapa1219 Its a DM model Mack, as evidenced by it's 3/4 cab that give it an offset appearance. It looks similar to the R, but the R had a fullsize cab. The DMs usually had a heavier frame and suspension, so these trucks were almost exclusively used as concrete mixers. I think that is what DM stands for "Drum Mixer", but I don't know that for sure.
Thanks, Ron! Wonderful stuff!!

R Model Mack
pepapa1219 2 years ago 4
@pepapa1219 Its a DM model Mack, as evidenced by it's 3/4 cab that give it an offset appearance. It looks similar to the R, but the R had a fullsize cab. The DMs usually had a heavier frame and suspension, so these trucks were almost exclusively used as concrete mixers. I think that is what DM stands for "Drum Mixer", but I don't know that for sure.
