by the way for those who didn't see the movie ... her character was coerced by a suicidal cop to help kill him ...that's why she was given the death penalty .
One of the IMDB commenters said they began hating David Morse, THE ACTOR (!!!) because of this movie, Dancer in the Dark, so despised was he as the bad guy...
@TitanSpace - If no one has says so... WOW! You did an excellent job! Even greater emotional impact than the original work. Very impressive. Hopefully, you've acquired your dream job as a special effects editor.
I'd seen a spoiler scene with the ending before I watched the movie so I couldn't cry but it's desperately sad and I feel terribel when she cries out for Jean.
Man it was a great job, just, lower the music level, sometimes it is too high... and saying u toog music from a game, may lower ur work making it cheap, still, good job.
I love this movie. the ultimate sacrifice for her child. I practically had to be medicated after the movie. Check out Breaking the Waves. Another amazing Lars von Trier movie with Emily Watson. I think I would rather take a beating than go through the emotional hell I experienced after these two brilliant, breathtaking movies.
Im a painter and as much as i have have felt in my 15 years of painting this song and vid I have played over &over...I dont thing of this, but I painted to this girl When she was the Cubes and Its a trip to see her do this step of work...the end
Can;t really help you there, VUC3N, but at a guess I should think her real age of 36 is pretty much on the money. I know what you mean, though, she does seem very childlike and even naive throughout the movie. I think the ending is very long and drawn out - if they had just put a bag over her head and pulled the lever it would have been much more dramatic and powerful as a finale.
one of my fiends thought it was funny when she dropped at the end....i still and will always think he's an idiot..i blubbed my fuckin eyes out when i 1st saw it,and she was ded unhappy making the film too...aww...
its so weird..you kinda forget that she's about to get hung and all the sudden she DROPS! and it's just like *GASP!* really really sad. i cried the first time i saw this.
cool work...

I'm so glad they hung Bjork - can't stand her caterwauling songs! The director did a service to all humanity!

They didn't really hang her, you know... And once someone puts you out of your misery, that'll be the real service to humanity.

David Morse has gotten that response to a lot of the roles that he has portrayed. How the academy has missed this man for so long is beyond me.

As a European I find the death penalty sickening, but a hanging like that was MUCH quicker than the lethal injection process used today.

This song is very beautifull, and this horrible noise turns it to shit
Wildbillhitchcock 5 years ago
Here lies poor Bjork, eating chocolate marshmallows
She thought she could sing but wound up on the gallows
The governor, cruel man, could have set the girl loose
But see how she swings on the end of a noose
Her acting was dire, almost worthy of soap
But we'll never know now she's been dropped on a rope
