  • This is reminiscent of Nujabes's Aruarian Dance which sampled The Lamp is Low by Laurindo Almeida. Just wonderful.

  • @mrbrightsiiide

i'm glad i'm not the only person who found that connection! i heard this long ago before the sample really reached the surface and desperately attempted to find a studio recording or something of the like, of this song on guitar.

in any case, this is absolutely beautiful and inspiring. i wish music like this was still...well, thriving.

  • A beautiful arrangement played with great feeling, wonderful.

  • Bravo!

  • EXCELENTE!!!!!!!, MARAVILLOSA VERSIÓN. QUE GRAN EJECUCIÓN ESTILO JAZZ.

  • Wow man! This was really nice to listen to! And I love that you are using a nylon string ;)

  • Awesome job dude!!! I just started playing this song and it sounds nothing like what you are playing, I finally get to hear it for the first time, and it sounds beautiful!!

  • I like it!!!!!

  • nice..

  • Dude appears to be using the pinky finger of his picking hand... that's hardcore.

  • hehe...it's only way to get five note chords :)

  • I'm growing out my pinkie nail as I type this...

  • yea, too bad we don't have 6 fingers on our right hand! LOL

  • Love it. Beautiful rich chords. This is one of my all time favorite tunes. I've played it on keyboard and on guitar. You've got some chords in this I never even thought of. I will definitely favorite this and I have just subscribed to your channel.

  • Wow. I found a taste of Latin American bolero in your interpretation of this wonderful song, which adds to its magnificent melodic line. Where are you from? Is this just cultural influence or pure musical creativity? Whatever it was, the results are extraordinary. Congrats!

  • I agree. I was just about to write a similar question.

I would like to know the answer.

    Thank you.

  • thanks for listening, you can see my reply above for the answer...sorry for the delay

  • i am an american born iraqi jew...so who knows where it came from i just keep my ears open and let the music flow :)

  • I've left this message on some of your other contri's...Any chance of doing some more standards? I love hearing you play. I'm writing my new novel and find it very relaxing. How about 'night & Day', 'The nearness of you', 'When I fall in love' or perhaps 'more than you know'? I'm sure lots of us would love to hear you play some more! Thanks.

From Ian M Faulkner Author of 'None So Blind' & 'Myth'.

  • so sorry for being out of touch...i just added cry me a river and i did a version of "when I fall in love" with a singer. Check out the user "jodijeanis" and you'll see it there. Finally, I do have an album which is not too expensive and it will sound much better than the videos. You can click the link from my youtube page or buy it from itunes. cheers!
