  • @loretha08 I really enjoyed there movies doing that time. Both actors were great. I really love this sung and the way he sings it is so beautiful. I believe his thoughts were of Sandra may they both RIP....Thanks for posting

  • No one can sing like this with this emotion and expression without having experienced it themselves. Love as if it may be the your last day together, love with alll your heart and picture your times under that oak or the breeze running through her hair or it may never come again. The moomlight in her eyes is still there just remember to look for it and let her know. Love to all....

  • Perfect delivery! A true entertainer.. Not like the upstarts we have today..

  • @pepperquentin wonderfulllllllll yours words! ;D

  • '67 is the year he and Sandra Dee divorced. Do you think he knew what he was singing about? I just love these old school performers who were less concious about technique, but completely focused on the message in the song. That's what I want to hear, and that's what I miss today. And that's why performers like Darin do live on. There product isn't artifact, it is art... timeless.

  • Bobby Darin, So much talent and so little time. He sang this song with such heart felt feeling. His songs live on!!! RIP Bobby.

  • He sang from the heart. Makes me cry cause it's just so beautiful.

  • you are so right when you say Mr. Bennett can not touch this. I just saw Beyond the Sea with Kevin Spacey who I worship and adore and have cried for 2 days. such emotion and passion from Kevin and Bobby. I grew up with Bobby and Sandra and it was such a tradegy.

  • I can only imagine what this would sound like if this song was played on a grand piano,And no Vocals

  • @Airsoftcleaner Why would you want to?

  • @rvcrvc2 Because it would sound so heart wrenchingly beautiful

  • I can only imagine what this would sound like this song was played on a grand piano,And no Vocals

  • this is the best version i've heard of this song. what a talent. he's one of my favorites for sure. thank you for posting.

    Layne

  • This song made my mom cry when I was about 5 years old and now I understand why all these years later. Thank you for posting and honoring Bobby Darin.

  • i had to play this song over and over.

  • An artist at it´s best and a human being that was so loveable. Just perfect.

  • A tender and beautiful vocal.

  • All is can say is WOW.I never new. He could put so much heart in his songs. He's leftt me speechless and crying!

  • He tells a story everybody surely knows - in his lovely way: full of soul and heart. Great performer, able to show generations after him , that mankind can be lovely like he was.

  • "Hauntingly beautiful"

  • If it had been a different generation, Bobby Darin would have been the Sinatra of his generation. Unfortunately for all of us, things are what they are. Bobby Darin was a once in a generation singer. We were just too stupid to recognize him for what he was.

  • Did he say "while I catch a breath?" Poor guy...he needed an oxygen break right there.

  • @lkl8 Today, Darin's heart condition would easily be treated with a valve replacement. Correct me if I'm wrong but he sustained valve damage after a case of childhood rhuematic fever. I loved his treatment of this beautiful song. Tony Bennett's also. I'll have to catch John Gary's too. Finally, Ray Bolger does a sweet rendition, almost in talking style, on the cast album of All American, a 1962 musical.

  • Dear Sweet Bobby will finally get his GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award Jan 30, 2010.

This performance demonstrates that it is LONG overdue!

  • i just wished i had been bobby darin !!! he was sensational !! such talent such diction , i will never foget where i was when i learned of his death, i was on my way to a concert i had organised for my football team , when i arrived my friends were astonished that i had come !! so sad

  • sad thing is Sandy's no longer here either :( makes me want to cry, I absolutely loved his songs, movies, he taught us you don't need a lot of time to accomplish things simply give your heart to it...thanks for telling about the award will mark the calendar...thanks LOTS :)

  • There were and even now many talented

    performers,however,when Sammy Davis

commented, that is one act I can never follow, yes it does bring tears to my eyes &

a lump in my throat but remember Bobby

always gave it all he had and more.Rest easy,Bobby.

  • Bobby Darin was great... John Gary however was... Well see for yourself. John Gary...

  • Just the premier version of this song. His phrasing and emotion torture the listener with how good and far reaching the performance is. Go and acquire it. Play it on a state of the art vinyl setup and weep to the poignancy of it. I almost have to every time I listen to it.

  • i agree, the best one out there. far superior to BD's recorded version as well; more lush with the strings and piano at the beginning. But the vocals is just amazing. I tear up every time....

  • thanks bobbyfan64. Listening to Bobby brings back memories of this great performer who sang with such feeling and eased your heartache and made you smile. He loved his audience.

  • Thanks so much for the post, 64. Nobody else could touch this - not even Mr Bennett.

  • There was never a more soulful voice in the music industry------ever. He just sings with so much emotion and feeling that he moves the audience almost to tears. There just aren't enough words to describe the talent in this man.

  • There's no words to explain the greatness

of this man. Such a talent ! He follows to give me wonderful emotions. What a song. What a interpretation !

    Thanks a lot for posting.

  • I'll guarantee he was thinking of sandra dee. Don't we all have that special someone whom we let get away

  • OMG........I didn't know this song would have such an effect on me. Just boo-hooing like a big baby. I find myself missing all those things he is singing about. Such a talent. Live life to the fullest, it's shorter than you think!!!

  • I wonder if he was reflecting on his early years with Sandra Dee as he sang this.

  • Don't Frank & Elvis. Thanks for posting. Class act!

  • Got the album (Is he gonna make it?) - Brilliant. You can hear the bit where he's messing with the mike on the record - very toppy sound - as if it's a cheap mike or something! - very strange for a TV show. The last of the great entertainers.

(Jolie, Crosby, Darin - the 3 greats)

  • It just brings a lump to the throat, we so miss him

  • And tears to the eyes...

  • i gave it a shotty :) woopwoop

  • ****Unbelievable & Precious in time****"look at the feelings of emotion in his face"......Oh how we wish you were here....I love this concert in London!! This song could make a man cry~~~~Darin Forever~~~~dh

  • Bobby looks as if he was not feeling quite 100% here and maybe having some trouble breathing and still gives a remarkable performance. great video thanks for posting.
