The teacher teaches his student two different movements and differernt "temps d'escrime".
First movement: the student attacks par "coup droit or dégagement"
Second movement: the student gets back in position, and the maître d'armes attacks on his turn. The student makes a "remise" or an "reprise", depending on the movement of dhe teacher, followed by a step back.
When the student has finish is movement, the teacher should not advance in is direction to complete the attack. Rather, the student should continue and put is point on the teacher who is not moving.
