Call me crazy, but for some reason, I think Quake II looks stupidly cool - I think it's got to do with the polygon count and such, but there's also things like the explosions, the font... very silly things. Never actually played it though, but it's still cool to look at.

Quake 4 is better than Doom 3 because of more lighting. In Doom 3, more than half the time you have to pull out your flashlight to find the enemy, take out your gun, shoot, and then take out the flashlight again to see if you hit your target.

Quake II is better than Doom 2 because of the graphics and nearly everything being 3d, and there is a more clear storyline.

i know buncha ppl who hated Q3 apart from me... they all were expecting another quake II, better, but they found just a simple and boring multiplayer... thats not a quake, thats just a multiplayer with random shit, the characters arent even from quake... the weapons were all new and sucked...

Don't agree with that part, q3 was random only with spawns, lg might was a bit too strong, but it just maked it one of the main weapons. I play QL with is oltmost q3 since open beta came, so that's abaut a year now, every day it get more fun, everyday you find something new in it.

Umm, i don´t really know anymore (i use Fraps now). I think i put the quake2 exe (or any other q2 client) in a list with the Gamecam manager and when i started quake2 it showed a small menu with record/stop/pause etc. Try to look at google or something, i really don´t remember.

Top of the line _last_ year means squat if you compare it to, I dunno, THIS year's products perhaps? But sure, my first high end GFX card had 256 MB memory as well. Some 3 years ago. Texture memory doesn't have an impact on performance on today's high-mem cards but I suppose the card you pulled out from the bottom of the discount box at Walmart still counts it as "the shit". My card has nearly twice the core clock speed of that 7800 and four times the memory. ;P
