Well it's certainly interesting to hear the Geico cave man weigh in on enlightenment. Seriously, you could randomly run a cheeze grater over your head and end up with a better haircut than that.
@BrinnaNanda Cool as it may sound ... It's quite a common place to negate the mind as 'self' in Indian philosophy but the negation of the experiential, ontological 'self ' is subject to controversy as shown in history of Indian philosophy. Some modern Indian thinkers, say Gururaj Ananda, simply said that it is 'BS'. Yes, it's everybody's choice ...
One final step would be to get rid of the concept of the 'absolute', or indeed all concepts no-matter-what. What remains will be the 'zen' state which is purely intuitive, purely ontological yet alive and fluidistic. Yes one will slip out of that state so easily. So no other way out but keep going back until one is accustomed to it and at the same time can still function properly in this world. That which is the most challenging. Said is much easier than done ... so tragic ...
@hydrogenroar Yes! But you could try his 'Experiental Meditation'.. then for a while at least, there is no-one to think about anything.. It's on here somewhere, taken from his 1st DVD.
its so simple. Everything we think, say , and do are coming out from the illusion. As well as everything we see, hear, touch, smell, feel, taste. None of this is real. Its all just a concept. If a tree falls in the wooks and no one is there to hear it, does it exist? NO unless a mind is present.
@christophertalon "If a tree falls in the woods, and no one is there to hear it, does it exist?" if no one is there to see it, it will not fall cus it don't exist, if you where there before and though that the tree will fall in the future cus it was rotten, and go back to see a year later, the tree will be on the ground, but it has not fallen, bacause it is the most probable, still there is no tree and no fallen tree, and no tree on the ground, it is just YOUR perception:) the car thief has his.
@christophertalon "If a tree falls in the woods, and no one is there to hear it, does it exist?"
Just because we are not there to hear the tree fall doesn't mean that the tree did not fall. Just because you didn't see a thief steal your car doesn't mean that the thief does not exist.
The "tricky" thing about Neti, Neti is that while true, it won't work(i.e., one won't progress along the "path" as described by Wolinsky) so long as one conceptualizes oneself in that manner.
Its actually simple - when U actually SEE or realise what you fundamentally ARE - The recognition that All there is is God arises. If all is God, the world is God, or the Absolute. Its a paradox, as from the body/minds view there is an apparent world. Speaking may happen from the view of the body or from the view of the Absolute - depending on the need of the seeker.
the simplicity helps and simultaneously confounds. really it just seems that words are woefully inadequate to explain fully that which is unexplainable in words. talk about an infinitely deep rabbit hole. i just have to let it be. & it's wonderful, these are the very concepts i find myself integrating into a fresh paradigm for living. helping to perceive things in a way i never imagined was possible.

This is interesting but only when I think about it. What can I do with this but think about it?
