On SFO-HKG route, United Airlines could be pushed off by Cathay Pacific. Because on SFO-HKG route United Airlines and Cathay Pacific are using the Boeing 747-400. United Airlines Boeing 747 do not have a ptv in the economy class but Cathay Pacific 747 have a ptv in the economy class.
Good video. Aside from your plane coming in (United 869), there were 2 others circling - Mandarin Airlines 8597 which is from Taiwan and Dragonair 805 from Shanghai.
@wifferste Mandarin 5897 landed before this United flight and just cleared the runway. Behind the United is Dragon Air 805 and behind the Dragon Air is Cathay 411.
The majority of people to fly first, like me, are airline employees using the flight benefits that come with working for an airline. In tafari's case though. most likely an ass who just feels like being superior, instead of the reality of being inferior even to those in Economy.
People who fly first/business are usually top policians or top shots in large companies who have large expense accounts. Or super rich.
First/business are the money making part of an airline.
It's up to the individual's choice. If one needs to arrive in his/her best shape for business meetings then by all means fly first/business. For leisure trips economy class=more than enough
Who do you think you are? People like you shouldn't be allowed to use Youtube, you stuck up retard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You snob! You should take a look at yourself and then take a guess at why there is such a social divide. YOU MAKE ME SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video siuoo, I love Hong Kong, and United Airlines. Sorry for arguing on your video but tafari407 infuriates me.

I think US Airways is going to have a route from Philadelphia to Beijing..I wonder what type of aircraft they have that would be capable of flying such a long route. I remember reading somewhere that they are considering using the A340, the 340-600 I think. But I think the facilities at KPHL need some major improvements. I flew out of there in 2004, seems like there's not much in the way of passenger amenities in their domestic terminal.
For those in hong kong if you like the ATC radio freq's for HK Airport (new airport) from tower to plane all airports plane clerance frequencies at hong kong, send me a message I can send them to you for your enjoyment.
Unfortunately, the cabin crew service on UA is so atrocious, never improved over the last 13 years. Meanwhile, other airlines have evolved and adjusted to meet the demands of top paying passengers. BTW, some global airlines have already phased out 747s or using them for cargo only.
You wanted cheap, you got cheap. Airline employees are making today what they made more than 15 years ago. Unfortunately the traveling public has gotten surlier, sloppier and more ill behaved than at any time in the history of air travel. When we passengers are willing to pay for service, food and leg room, we will get it. Until then pack a lunch, layer your travel attire to avoid baggage charges and tote your blanket and pillow.
Nonsense, I know of no one "phasing out" 747s unless they're older and at the end of their lifecycle. Boeing still has a healthy 747 market for both cargo and passengers. The 380 IS very popular, and the 777 / 787 are getting more attention. But your comments on United are SPOT ON. And this from a former 100K passenger! The SYD-SFO route has some of the rudest trolls I've ever dealt with...
windomes300, when u have to put up w/ what the ass face Glenn Tilton has done to the employees, u will see why the service has gone down. He has rapped the nce great Airline w/ proude employees to almost not giving a crap sometimes.
Yes, some airlines from other countries have phased out 747's....but many have not. There are airlines who have orders in not only for the Airbus A340 and A380 but the Boeing 787 and 747-8. Don't count Boeing out, ever. Airbus is actually having trouble with their A380 orders.
bafw26 I agree with u LAX is a dump I flew in from HKG to LAX I was unimpressed at the airport.I really think North America should take lesson from Asian airports they are so advanced and modern My experience is Singapore,HKG,NRT,and KLIA are the best airports in the world.
UAL marketing offers channel 9 *. the * means it is the Captain's decision whether he wants to use it or not. Until UAL management starts to treat their employees with respect expect channel 9 to become a thing of the past.
That is not fog or haze, but pollution courtesy of the PRC. Hong Kong Int. is a great airport though. It's really depressing flying from HKI to LAX. LAX is a total shithole.
I wonder how long the CX(Cathay Pacific) flight from KJFK(New York) to VHHH(Hong Kong). I know they use the Airbus A340 for one of the JFK-HKG flights.
It's around 16 hours. The plane used was an A340-600. Now it's been switched to a 777-300ER. Additionally, one more daily non-stop 777-300ER flight to JFK has been added. So now there are 3 daily flights to JFK from HK. 2 nonstops by 777-300ER and 1 one-stop(Vancouver) flight by 747-400.

United offers the ATC sound as part of it's entertainment package. It's on Channel 9 on United flights. Don't you KNOW you cannot use a walkie-talkie or scanner onboard a jetliner?
