  • There are more economy seats then first class you prik

  • On SFO-HKG route, United Airlines could be pushed off by Cathay Pacific. Because on SFO-HKG route United Airlines and Cathay Pacific are using the Boeing 747-400. United Airlines Boeing 747 do not have a ptv in the economy class but Cathay Pacific 747 have a ptv in the economy class.

  • Good video. Aside from your plane coming in (United 869), there were 2 others circling - Mandarin Airlines 8597 which is from Taiwan and Dragonair 805 from Shanghai.

  • @wifferste Mandarin 5897 landed before this United flight and just cleared the runway. Behind the United is Dragon Air 805 and behind the Dragon Air is Cathay 411.

  • I'll be on this flight (UA895) in early May, row 50A.

  • I think it's great that siuoo puts these videos up. It's the negative comments I find annoying.

  • what flight number was it

  • @hEandwE It's UA895

  • thats also the same flight I'm going in!

  • same flight im going in!

  • hmmm looks exactly like the flight i had...

  • nice you can see the smoke from the tyres at touchdown when in the cabin!

  • Yes , thats right. Very nice !!

  • Thanks for the info.

  • wow you are so poor lol i always fly first class get a job dip shit

  • what is your job then that can get you to afford first class

  • The majority of people to fly first, like me, are airline employees using the flight benefits that come with working for an airline. In tafari's case though. most likely an ass who just feels like being superior, instead of the reality of being inferior even to those in Economy.

  • People who fly first/business are usually top policians or top shots in large companies who have large expense accounts. Or super rich.

First/business are the money making part of an airline.

It's up to the individual's choice. If one needs to arrive in his/her best shape for business meetings then by all means fly first/business. For leisure trips economy class=more than enough

    My 2 cents.

  • @desmondwkyip

Sometimes it could be upgrades or compensation for a cancelled flight

  • shut the fuck up

  • probably donald trump is fucking your ass so

  • Who do you think you are? People like you shouldn't be allowed to use Youtube, you stuck up retard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You snob! You should take a look at yourself and then take a guess at why there is such a social divide. YOU MAKE ME SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great video siuoo, I love Hong Kong, and United Airlines. Sorry for arguing on your video but tafari407 infuriates me.

  • your such an idiot. why do you think there are more economy class seats than first class anyway. THICK or what?!!!!! him get a job - you get a life. seriousy are you so sad you have to go around making stupid comments on peoples videos?? no one likes you get off you tube and stop bugging people. great video - atleast he can afford a camera to make videos. i apologise for arguing on your vid its fantstic 5*!!!

  • Well my dads a pilot and flys this airplane and those 1st class seats go for about 20,000 bucks so ya!!

  • First class seats don't cost 20,000 dollars, dumbfuck.

  • Go fuck your million dollar dildo

  • You are loser.

People who fly first time are stupid.

What for pay so much where you are in the same plane which will get you to the same place.

  • is united ecomony class good? is the plane dirty? toliet dirty?

  • There's a glimpse of a Cathay Pacific 777 taxiing, and the rudder is moving. Why is the pilot doing this?

  • I think US Airways is going to have a route from Philadelphia to Beijing..I wonder what type of aircraft they have that would be capable of flying such a long route. I remember reading somewhere that they are considering using the A340, the 340-600 I think. But I think the facilities at KPHL need some major improvements. I flew out of there in 2004, seems like there's not much in the way of passenger amenities in their domestic terminal.

  • yeah us airways is planning to in 2010

  • I notice no blue stripes on the winglet, must be a United 744 in the old gray and blue livery.

  • Wow look at the vortex just prior to touching down! Great one!

  • So amazing. In 4 days I will be taking a 747 first class To Hong Kong and this video just got me so pumped up haha.

  • I'm going in one of these in 1 month can't wait.

  • Great video! I'm catching a UAL plane leter this summer from Chicago to San Diego, hope I'll be able to listen to the ATC communications then!

  • now this is when Pilots can test their skills!

check out my videos guys, just click my username!

  • cool, like these kinds of vids take off n landing, i use to be a piliot at south-west, now with AA

  • For those in hong kong if you like the ATC radio freq's for HK Airport (new airport) from tower to plane all airports plane clerance frequencies at hong kong, send me a message I can send them to you for your enjoyment.

  • where the hell this fella got the ATC communication??

  • United generally makes it available through one of the audio channels

  • steady camera.surreal sound.nice picture=great video

  • The Cantonese was good!

  • They need someone on board who can speak proper Mandarin.

  • Unfortunately, the cabin crew service on UA is so atrocious, never improved over the last 13 years. Meanwhile, other airlines have evolved and adjusted to meet the demands of top paying passengers. BTW, some global airlines have already phased out 747s or using them for cargo only.

  • then what are they going to relplace it with? there is no bigger plane. and they have to plans for a380

  • You wanted cheap, you got cheap. Airline employees are making today what they made more than 15 years ago. Unfortunately the traveling public has gotten surlier, sloppier and more ill behaved than at any time in the history of air travel. When we passengers are willing to pay for service, food and leg room, we will get it. Until then pack a lunch, layer your travel attire to avoid baggage charges and tote your blanket and pillow.

    Happy travels!

  • Nonsense, I know of no one "phasing out" 747s unless they're older and at the end of their lifecycle. Boeing still has a healthy 747 market for both cargo and passengers. The 380 IS very popular, and the 777 / 787 are getting more attention. But your comments on United are SPOT ON. And this from a former 100K passenger! The SYD-SFO route has some of the rudest trolls I've ever dealt with...

  • windomes300, when u have to put up w/ what the ass face Glenn Tilton has done to the employees, u will see why the service has gone down. He has rapped the nce great Airline w/ proude employees to almost not giving a crap sometimes.

  • um also UAL can't buy new airplanes until late 2009. So u canhave ur POS(Piece of Shit) A380 and I will stick w/ the 747 anyday.

  • don't worry UAL would not want to buy the A380 and will buy the new 747-8

  • LOL..United has some Airbus aircraft, the smaller ones like the A319. I flew on their A319

    from KORD(Chicago O'Hare) to KPHL(Philadelphia International)

  • Yes, some airlines from other countries have phased out 747's....but many have not. There are airlines who have orders in not only for the Airbus A340 and A380 but the Boeing 787 and 747-8. Don't count Boeing out, ever. Airbus is actually having trouble with their A380 orders.

  • bafw26 I agree with u LAX is a dump I flew in from HKG to LAX I was unimpressed at the airport.I really think North America should take lesson from Asian airports they are so advanced and modern My experience is Singapore,HKG,NRT,and KLIA are the best airports in the world.

  • The NIMBYs don't want improvement at LAX. They just like things to be the same.

  • HKG & Changi are very clean airports.

  • yeh they have antibacterial gel dispensers at the entrances of the lifts.

  • Yes , Have you been to them ?

  • I will be on that same flight monday into HKG cant wait pretty long flight though 15 hrs.

  • UAL marketing offers channel 9 *. the * means it is the Captain's decision whether he wants to use it or not. Until UAL management starts to treat their employees with respect expect channel 9 to become a thing of the past.

  • That is not fog or haze, but pollution courtesy of the PRC. Hong Kong Int. is a great airport though. It's really depressing flying from HKI to LAX. LAX is a total shithole.

  • I remeber in Feb when i touched that very runway on VS200 & VS201!

  • Wow...smooth landing. Good job camera guy!

  • whats even longer is the flights from newark to singapore with the a340

  • I wonder why so few international airlines fly out of Philly anymore. Guess the routes aren't profitable?

  • Do flights from america that are going to east russia head west as this would be quicker? Which way do they fly

  • when a an american flight is headed to hong kong do they head east or west. You could fly west couldnt you towards russia from usa

  • Did it have private TV?

  • 18hrs = Changi(SIN/WSSS)- Newark Liberty(EWR/KEWR)

  • I wonder how long the CX(Cathay Pacific) flight from KJFK(New York) to VHHH(Hong Kong). I know they use the Airbus A340 for one of the JFK-HKG flights.

  • It's around 16 hours. The plane used was an A340-600. Now it's been switched to a 777-300ER. Additionally, one more daily non-stop 777-300ER flight to JFK has been added. So now there are 3 daily flights to JFK from HK. 2 nonstops by 777-300ER and 1 one-stop(Vancouver) flight by 747-400.

  • There are 2 flight between JFK and HKG.

One is direct , Another one is via YVR(Vancouver)

Both are operated by Boeing 777-300ER.

  • hey how do u get ATC?

  • channel 6 of united airlines. =]. lol

  • But how do you get it to your camera and into this video

  • Channel 9

  • gr8 view at 1:43

  • Hey I flew from Orlando to San Francisco to

Hong-Kong and it was only 16 hours to Fly

to Hong-Kong but the turbulance is kinda bad

    once you Reach towards Japan

  • look at all the smog..

  • How do you know it's smog and not plain old FOG?

  • Because it's Hong Kong.

  • I would think any plain old fog would have dissipated by late afternoon.

  • Nice

  • 18 hours that ;s a long trip man how can you stand this

  • it is not 18 hours

  • shut up ya it is

  • its at least 16 hours from san francisco to hong kong

  • not that long. i travel to china, vietnam, and japan all the time with my dad. not that long of a trip if u get used to it.

  • i saw the smoke when it landed

  • Thanks for uploading! Great Video! Great airline! Great airport! Great city!

  • I done this flight from both Toronto and New York - 18 hours on a 747

  • ok dude i do detroit to buffalo NWA and that is only 1.5 hrs u need to get ur facts stright the only way it is 18 hours is if u go fly to lax then fly to nyc

  • How can I get the ATC Channel 9 on my video along with the sound? It sounds so clear. Please give me the steps as I want to try this.

  • Nice!!!!

  • I have been on a 747 for 13 hours and an 18 hour flight

  • how can u do that?

  • let's say you wanted to go to tokyo, but you're flying on KLM which stops in Amsterdam.you would take a flight from New York to amsterdam. Then you would take another flight from amsterdam to tokyo.

  • 你點樣聽到架?

  • its a hellofa lot easier at Chek Lap Kok than at Kai Tak

  • Amen. Anybody remember the "checkerboard" approach? On final you'd pass people in the apartment buildings - you could get close enough to see them brushing their teeth ;o)

  • checkerboard approach, a classic. Such a shame it is a thing of the past. I used to live in HK and watched as planes turned right after facing the checkerboards and onto ki tak.

  • That would be Kai Tak. I would have loved being on a jetliner with that Runway 13 IGS 'thrill ride' Another scary but cool landing is into St. Maarten, Princess Juliana International Airport.

Those planes land VERY close to the beach!

  • Smooth Landing.

  • Nice Video, well done. I wish all planes had a channel so you could listen to the ATC-Cabin Crew conversations. 5 Star.

  • I agree, it would be good to listen to the radio transmissions, though I don't think ATC would want to talk to the Cabin Crew, more likely the Flight Deck Crew.

  • Ha ha whoops! I meant Flight deck crew :) I really love 747s, they are my fave!

It would be fantastic to hear the ATC - Flight crew conversations!

  • my friend just left on united from ord to pek and her flight was guna be 13hr and 14min O_O

  • on my palne to hong kong flew singapore airlines thats mad

  • Sweeeeeet....im going Hong Kong in a week...cant wait...but they plane journeys going to be quite long...

  • Cool, smooth passenger view with nice landscape and ATC/Crew interaction...

  • on my plane to hong kong i rode on cathay pacific folowing ua869

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!:)

  • i never knew till recently that the passenengers could listen to us talk

  • ok u 're right.. but how could you listen to the ATC?

  • Tune in to Channel 9, this is one of the advantage of flying UA, how exciting it is to listen to ATC!

  • Are you using a scanner?

  • Grab the head sets, the entertainment ones, tune into CH. 9, United is the only one doing this.

  • There ought to be a law that mandates that all US Carriers do this...

  • for what

  • The Sound is stolen from antoher video ! They says Cathay (Pacific) not United Airlines

  • Please use your stupid brain and ears. The first dialogue in the video is "United 869 cleared to land runway 25 right". Cathay is just the aircraft behind UA869.

  • SIUOO, be nice!

  • how could you listen to ATC, with a walki-talki?

  • United offers the ATC sound as part of it's entertainment package. It's on Channel 9 on United flights. Don't you KNOW you cannot use a walkie-talkie or scanner onboard a jetliner?

  • @kimberlyKfnOphiEAGLE A plane is a faraday cage, won't work either with a ww or a scanner.

  • awesome view

  • reminds of my one and only trip to hong kong in 2002. makes we wanna go back immediately.

  • great video, thnx! I didnt see hkg before..

  • that was a very nice video...

  • Excellent video. I think I saw the siluette of that bridge between seconds 12 and 33...

  • Na that's the refinery.

  • nice landing...

  • how do you get the audio on the camera

  • Cool Video make me miss the day when i went back to vietnam of United Airline

  • The wing isn't bent.. its a WINGLET... oy... and united audio channel 9 allows you listen the interaction between the cockpit and ATC...

  • A winglet allows for additional lift without extending the wing length.

  • Not entirely true... it does increase the aspect ratio (span/chord) but its primary use is to decrease the induced drag (particularly in cruise) and hence increase range by reducing the spill of high pressure to low pressure at the wing tips.

  • i been to that airport wen i went to china it is very kool there and i was in a United flight.

  • Excellent! great video!

  • Very smooth landing of UA in a very nice Chek Lap Kok Airport. Nice video siuoo san.

  • Am I mistaken, or is that wing bent? Must have happened on take off

  • Wing bent? How is that possible?

  • The wing seems ok to me.

  • thats known as a "winglet"

  • it is normal for the 747-400. it is the winglet

  • Its winglet's haha.

  • Nice video and Hong Kong airport is simply beautiful. I have been there once. But i am wondering abt this video how is it getting the radio signals between the Captain and Flight controller??

  • it's a special audio channel only on United. It's called "Channel 9"

  • ok and how does your device gets the signals on that channel ? Some one told me there is some special device with which you can read any radio signals anywhere.

  • gotta love united's channel 9!

  • nice

  • I love tis video alot :) very nice and detailed
